This -plus crazies at my NJ place wanted to visit our house multiple times, and they ranked adopters gave dog to best fit.
Honestly not worth it
Both my dogs were rescue (Aussie, Border Collie) and both are great dogs. Got the Border as a puppy, never did figure out why she was dumped at the pound. Aussie was being trained as a service dog but was too geared towards patrolling her territory and eliminating everything in it she doesn't like.

We've never bought. Only adopted.

Where do you live? State?

Whenever people say adopt, the don't mean go to the pound and find the nasty, skinny, poorly treated dogs. It just means find the dogs don't have a home. There are adoption puppies everywhere. Even if you want a specific breed, like a bitch arse pug, there are pug rescues everywhere.
or you could just let the guy buy whatever the hell he wants?

I "adopted" my Aussie for around $500

Yep. Just like several others who shared the same opinion. ![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/Iconcheers.gif)

Find your local Korean owned restaurant and save a life.

Corgi > Pug.
And dont listen to the "adopt or die" people. There is nothing wrong with wanting a certain breed with certain standards that are registered.
I paid $1200 for my corgi and $800 for my yellow lab.
Sure there are dogs out there that could be saved, but I for one invest my money in things i specifically want. I wouldnt invest my hard earned money in an old mom and pop company on the verge of bankruptcy over a proven commodity that will make me money.
Seriously though get a Pembroke Welsh Corgi instead of a pug. Similar size, Corgis are much smarter, and they dont snore loud as frick, and 99% of the time have fewer health issues as they age. ive owned both.

How's the grooming for a corgi?
Posted on 4/3/17 at 12:29 pm to SabiDojo
They shed really bad twice a year as their undercoat come in (they are dual coat dogs). Other than that it isnt bad, but during their bi-yearly shed fest you have to brush them every day. It last about a week or two. When they arent in that phase brushing them one or twice a week keeps things manageable. They arent the worst shedders but are far from the best.

Adopt a dog, there are puppies available to adopt. They make the best dogs.

Also, before someone even says it, I know adoption is an option and no i don't want to do that.

He's free to do so. No one here has prevented that as far as I know.

To me this just shows they care about their dogs and want to make sure they are going to a good home. Our current husky required that we do an application with references and have an in home visit.

Yep.
We were almost not able to get him because our previous dogs vet records were not complete. We would get his shots and heartworm tests done at a mobile vet clinic and they did not have all of his records on file.

Adopting a pet is trashy.

Go to rescueme.org. It links you to every pound in the country and has filters for age, breed, and location. We browsed for 6 months and finally found the perfect pup. Good luck!
