My Hope List

Not a mock, just how my wish list is shaping up...
#11 Derek Barnett
This is predicated on acquiring Butler. If he is not brought in then a CB at 11 could be a 50/50 proposition.
#32 traded for Malcolm Butler
I'm not a huge fan of the cost but if there was ever a time to be all-in now is it. If keeping #32 a QB could be a real possibility. I understand but still prefer all-in NOW
#42 Joe Mixon RB Okla
Basing this on the premise they grade him clean enough from the off field issues. He would immediately add a role that worked great here for Bush and Sproles. Ingram is only under contract one more year and turns 28. Mixon could be a potential #1 back rather than just the gadget dynamic.
Second choice: Obi Melifonwu or Budda Baker, depending on what their vision for the sfety position is going forward. Definitely if they want to continue 3 safety sets. Which one depends if they want the bigger guy or smaller free roaming type.
#76 Davis Webb QB Cal
Generally for me the further you go down the board the selection leans more toward value, regardless of position. That said, I think they take a QB is some round. If Webb is too optimistic at 76 then Kaaya.
Second choice: a great DB class, I could see more CB or S value being the selection. Several names fit here.
#103 Will Holden OT Vandy
Looking for a Streif replacement, solid looking right sider. I don't think Peat is going back anywhere on the right side.
#196 Travin Dural WR LSU
anyone saying that mocking 6th and 7th Rders is anything but guessing is FOS
#209 Micael Roberts TE Toledo
ditto #196

I would be a little disappointed if we drafted 5 offensive players.
I understand an OL though

At #76, I'd go with your 2nd option. Top Safety on our board. LB could be an option, but I think you get much better value at Safety than you get at LB in the 3rd round. Other than that little discrepancy...I think it's a great draft.
I really don't give a rats arse what position we draft in the 6th or 7th. You can nitpick if you want to...I just hope we hit on them.

Saints aren't trading for Butler. If there is a trade it'll be #32 and a 3rd to move up from 32 to like 20-25.

As long as they draft a dynamic instant plug in passrusher, joe mixon, and a good corner with startering ability... Ill be happy with the results!

I don't like a QB after the 1st round. Identified your guy? Great, go up and get him early. But don't settle for a lesser project guy when we need other help now.

That's theoretically 2 starters on D. Depth on D isn't an issue but quality is in certain areas

I do hope we trade for Butler
Preferably #42 but I'd be fine with #32. Knowing ur getting a successful cornerback is a can't pass up as long as it is not the 11th pick
Besides that, Id like to take another pass rusher in the top 103
Two chances to get the biggest position of need at the biggest impact position on defense
Hopefully they hit on both and we can have great rotation and depth

The saints aren't trading 32 for Butler that would be stupid when the pats only got a late second for Chandler jones

This is how I feel. There have only been a handful of guys or so taken in the mid rounds ( at least among the ones we've listed on here) over the last decade that you'd really want leading your franchise for a decade or so. If you don't like a guy enough to take him in the first 2 rounds I'd rather wait. Can get plenty of o linemen or linebackers/safeties to continue building this team in the early- mid rounds
