Eeeeek!! We are getting closer. A couple of things...It looks like Jon doesn't have an official throne, just the stark head chair in the dining hall. Also, dany's clothes are much darker and heavier looking. I assume this is because winter has come to dragonstone but I was really hoping for a more queenly outfit from her plus a crown. Where is her crown??? Where is Jon's crown??

That was totally worthless. I think they just want to keep the show in everyone's minds.

Not that it won't be awesome. I just think it's a timed reminder to the audience that the show is coming.

And very few spoilers have leaked so far.

I know you get a lot of shite on here but I tend to agree with your opinion on the show. Sansa getting raped, lack of direwolves prophecy and magic, Euron being a total joke and no dragonhorn, the clear division between good guys and bad guys, Jon's lame ressurection, Arya's god awful fight with robocop; all these things are stupid mistakes that weaken the awesome source material these guys were handed. I love the show because it still has great production value and amazing moments, but it could be so much better if the Daves didn't go full retard every once in a while

ETA: and fricking Wun Wun running into battle with no weapons and taking out like 5 guys total. What the frick

I agree with some of this. The end of Arya's story had the chance to be a powerful event, but some of it was lost because the way it was executed. I'd also like to see more action from the dire wolves. However, you should probably take up the resurrection issues with GRRM. I'll wait to see what Martin does with Dorne and the Iron Born before I get too upset about the way the show handled both scenarios. Also, I consider downplaying magic and prophecy to be a good thing. Some of the absolute weakest parts of the source material are directly related to magic.

It felt like this promo illustrated how much the game has funneled down from several competing factions to three main players. Each on their respective seat of power (who didn't enjoy seeing the full circle effect of Dany at Dragonstone, eh?), each prepared to do whatever it takes to protect their interests.

I'm curious to see what parallels there will be between this and Aegon's Conquest. Will Cersei be the new Harren the Black? An incumbent ruler who would rather be destroyed in ruinous fashion (along with all those near and dear to her) than surrender and submit.

And then there's Jon. The last King in the North (Rob not withstanding) bent the knee to a Targaryen to save his people upon seeing the might of the dragons and the destruction rained down upon the southern kingdoms. I'm not sure Jon will be so...agreeable. We'll see. A marriage alliance between he and Dany against Cersei to quickly end the human infighting and turn all focus upon the WWs would make sense and surprise no one.

Aegon's Conquest

I pray pretty consistently that GRRM trolls the frick out of everyone by making TWoW and ADOS primarily about Aegon's steady conquest of Westeros after taking Storm's End. He will end up killing Cersei and Juan Snow before at the last minute, Dany bends the knee and marries him to unite the bloodline. After this he is able to kill the Night's King from his seat on Drogon's back filling his duty as defender of the realm.

I never understood why people want spoilers. Are you so impatient that you can't enjoy a show week to week?

There are the Reddit spoilers, which should be taken with a grain of salt but some of it seems legit. Here's the link to it:

I completely disagree, magic was by far my favorite part of the books. House of the undying, the wolf dreams, Six Skins chapters, the Euron preview chapter; I think all these are some of the best parts of Martin's writing and he handles the magic system really well by only giving away tiny pieces of information at a time

To each his own, but I think the more emphasis on Magic/prophecy, the more the story gets away from him. I think the Lord of Light and the associated magic is the weakest major element of story so far. Not that it's bad, it just feels more convenient and less grounded than other aspects.

In the promo, they pan out in the eye of a blue eyed giant WW.

There's nothing to suggest it was a giant's eye. If anything it's the Night King's eye since they showed 2 Queens (Cersei and Dany) and 1 King (Jon) prior to this.

We all live in a blue eyed giant named Macumber
That ending would suck so much if it was revealed that that was the truth .
