I was just quoting a paragraph from the article that the OP linked and just so happened to not include in the OP.

Al least I provided facts. You're just speculating

Where do you think the other 55% is coming from, Mexicans, Vietnamese? Certainly some of that 55% But very very little. Other non-whites make up only about 5% or less of the New Orleans population. Do you really want me to look it up tomorrow to officially prove you wrong? Or will you just admit it here?

Changing Norco to a schedule 2 accelerated this. Are prescription opiates a problem? Yep. But changing this had consequences. Made Norco much more expensive, and bumped Oxys up a notch. All of this made a new crop of people belly up to heroin as a cheaper alternative. They started running low on heroin I guess so they started cutting it with fentanyl.

Total shitshow now.

You can thank the pill mills and big pharma for helping to revive the heroin craze

Well sorry if I misunderstood you. I post mobile 99% of the time now so I'm not as efficient at understanding what people are posting.

Hell, I don't even know my own post count or join date.

What has not been noted is that once you have had heroin cut with fentanyl you need both to satisfy the monkey on your back from then on out.

The problem is sometimes you get a much more powerful version of fent.that is used on circus animals and it kills off the customers.

Why? Are you part of some white community?

These are people affecting their own lives, not inflicting violence on others.

TOTALLY uncalled for. Doctors are smart fricking people and unless they decide to become criminal, they will know what to prescribe and at what dosage.

Every time the government starts telling doctors what they can and can't prescribe some unforeseen consequence rears its ugly head.

The medical community has trimmed the fat a lot recently. Pill mills are now hard to find and your regular doctor isn't going to prescribe narcotics unless he/she has known you a while and knows you aren't drug seeking.

It is. Most people arrested for drugs go into diversion programs with offers of treatment. But, you can force people into treatment and they'll still use again in large numbers.

Yes I am. Just as I expect leaders like Jessie Jackson to take a leadership roll in pointing out AA culture is on the wrong path (which they hardly do) I will also say that as a white person I should be able to talk about white people problems. REAL white people problems. Not my galaxy 7 blowing up on my flight to Aruba.

Not really sure what you're getting at here but all I'll say is that drug abuse does lead to other crimes.

It's the addicts who survive their ODs who cost society so much.

Dealers are cutting the heroin with fentanyl. Combining these two substances is a recipe for an overdose. They just don't care.

Business 101 is to develop repeat business. Not a smart move on their part. Killing off your customer base cuts into profits.

I'll be honest, some of the most honest and genuinely beautiful people I've known are recovering addicts. They've been to the precipice and come back. Sometimes There's a newfound outlook on life when someone has been given a second chance.

An opiod that is stronger than heroin but is produced strictly in a lab.

It's a prescription medication in the US.
