If Republicans Don't Go Nuclear For Gorsuch, I'm Never Voting For Them Again

Because there is no point in voting for a republican at that stage.
If they are so spineless, weak, and ineffective that they can't stand up, tell the Democrats to frick themselves, and get a preeminently qualified justice like Gorsuch approved, I'm done with them forever. Because there is no point for their existence. They will have become totally useless.
And I know I'm not the only one that will have had enough of them.

I don't see a logical, non-partisan reason why Democrats want to filibuster this. Gorsuch is a great choice and he is replacing Scalia, not Ginsburg.

So who will you vote for going forward? Democrats? Third party?
Or will you just not vote?
Or will you just not vote?

are you saying you won't vote for any republican or just not for a republican senate?

they may be saving the nuke for the next 3 SCOTUS appointments.

What? He may still be in a primary to vote for

What does that even mean?
You're either willing to do it or not. The current circumstances, which pretty overwhelmingly favor the Republicans (conservative replacement for a conservative justice) have caused the Dems to bring it to the brink with a filibuster. They're the ones responsible for the use of the nuclear option in my mind, not the Republicans.
The nuclear option seems like a rational response to their antics. Yes, they stalled on Garland which gives a modicum of talking point ammo to the Dems. But Republicans held a majority, they were elected to rule the chamber at the time. That doesn't undo the good faith they displayed by not filibustering Obama's other picks which were predictably left leaning.

That's the problem we face. Both parties are shite

It's a slippery slope.
Even though he is qualified, I don't want the Dems to be able to do it with a terrible nominee down the road

We should hope the nuclear option gets used THIS TIME for Gorsuch.
This way, all of the filibuster antics and cloture votes and the nuclear option logistics are already done so IF Ginsberg or breyer or kennedy quits or dies, the Republicans can replace them with David Duke if they wanted within 2 weeks and the dems can do nothing about it.

I agree, and I am assuming that has to be expected from Democrats. I am sure there is an aim in bringing about that situation, I just am not seeing what that is in forcing GOP to use that option.
I think Gorsuch should be approved, and differ from my party on this issue.

Well that escalated quickly.

Both parties only care about themselves and not for the people they represent

See, that's where you are fooling yourself. The democrats are dirty bastards who have no rules. They will do whatever it takes to ram their backward arse ideology down your throat. If they get the chance they'll damn well use it every time. frick them, it's time to push thru as much as possible before these sick fricks get back in power.

The Dems are going to go nuke next time they can anyway. Let's do it now.

Tactically I don't see why Dems are going to have this battle over Gorsuch.
If RBG (or one of the other liberals) dies, that would be the best time to force the Republicans to go nuclear. Also a decent chance Trump nominates someone more objectionable than Gorsuch there.
That is all just looking at the objective tactics here. I don't see how Republicans will look particularly bad going nuclear here.
