So I guess Alleva doesn't get credit for the Wade hire

I mean according to the Rant he is the worst AD. Does this mean we got Wade in spite of Alleva? One thing I do know if the Wade hire god forbid goes south,Alleva will be the first to be blamed.

He had to hire someone, should he get credit if it works out? You could have had an athletic department intern make the hire. His track record of gross incompetence doesn't give him the benefit of the doubt.

This is correct. Let's not pretend Alleva made this informed steal, Wade wanted the job and was cheaper than Crean that's why he's here not because Alleva is smart.

While there is reason to be optimistic, Wade's record at LSU is 0-0.

Curley Hallman beat #5 Alabama in Tuscaloosa and broke their 31 game home win streak. He still finished 5-6 that year and was a terrible coach.

The Wade hire looks good on paper. I wouldn't call it a homer type of hire...but it's a solid A-/B+ hire. Having said that, you have to wait and see how much success Wade will have to completely evaluate.
This is his 3rd basketball hire. If he got this one right, he'll be batting .333.

Sure Alleva gets the credit for the Wade hire just as he got credit for hiring Johnson, Jones, Caldwell and Torina.
