I noticed they want Touro Infirmary renamed, but not Touro Street.

There never should have been a conversation. I will never understand why Mitch took this on with all the other things this city needed to focus on. Really an incredibly poor decision.
Why? He wants his "brand" out there in national Democrat circles. In my estimation, he was going to try and parlay being Mayor of New Orleans, using this fecal matter to establish his bona fides with the Dem. higher ups AND into a position in the Clinton administration.
Unfortunately for him and New Orleans, she lost, and everyone thought she was a done-deal the second she began her campaign.

Anyone who is a part of or supports "Take Em Down NOLA" should do the world a favor and go play in traffic.

More white flight to follow.

How old is Malcolm Suber? Just wondering how much longer we'll have to put up with this
I hope Mitch is happy with this pandora's box he's opened.

The name of the street is State. Once you cross Claiborne it's State Street Dr. They aren't related.

Julien de Lallande Poydras
Thanks wiki, besides being known for his works in making NOLA to what it is today he was first and foremost a slaveowner.

75 people killed/wounded by gunfire in January alone. About 50 murders so far this year. Nice to know Landrieu and these assholes are concerned about the root causes of violence that is tearing the city apart.
When they're done renaming, maybe they can create a four-wheeler lane down Telly Hankton Parkway.
Maybe LSUTangerine can explain why this is a good thing.

Deep-down this is probably one of this fringe group's goals, though they would never admit their racism
