General DeGaulle Drive

What did he do to get on that list?
-----------------------------------------------------------

No idea, but he was general, so close enough.

When they revise their list, maybe DeGaulle will be removed. Or maybe they'll add Marshall Foch, General Pershing and General Haig streets.

Beauregard, Jeff Davis and Jackson Parishes should come get those monuments and display them proudly in front of their courthouses.

Sell that one to Beauvoir. They want it, and he isn't a significant New Orleans figure anyway.

His funeral was one of the largest events in New Orleans history.

It's like these people don't know shite about history, or else are intentionally blind to most of it.

I won't go into all the name but 2 obvious ones

Andrew Jackson
Yea okay he was an a-hole, trail of tears was bad ect.... but he won the Battle of New Orleans, how does the winning general of the Battle of New Orleans not deserve a statue in NEW ORLEANS

Robert E. Lee
I'll beat this drum till I die, he was not a racist and not even in favor of secession. There are several quote from him that even hint he may have had some abolitionist beliefs, at the very least he was not pro slavery expansion

My family left the city completely in the 70s and we had been there 100 years and owned a significant portion of the port in the great white migration to Metarie
