Are women more shallow than men?

I assume most of you guys have been to quite a lot of dates (please dont fail me). I find that as a guy, I wood most of my dates but most of my dates wood not do me. Why are they so shallow? I feel men are more open to women of different varieties

From an evolutionary standpoint, they are shallow in a different way than men are. Men are shallow - if the gal is attractive enough to cause him to sport wood, he "wood" as you say.
For a woman, this is far more risky - from an evolutionary standpoint. If a man gets a girl pregnant in a random, casual encounter - that's a double win - orgasm AND the genes are passed on. Evolutionary success and time to move on.
For a woman, that's a 20 year commitment if she gets pregnant. If the man isn't going to be a good provider (thus women's shallowness over the finances), then that may be too much risk for an orgasm.

This does not equate to shallowness on the part of women. In fact it is easily suggestive that you are the shallow one. In fact in the context of how you presented this thought it pretty much definitely means that you are the shallow one.
But anyway, women and men are probably about equally shallow. It's kind of a hard thing to qualify though. Women probably tend to be more materialistic.

If shallow also includes vanity, then I would say generally speaking, yes. However that gap is closing (not sure if I worded that properly).
