Songy, Sports2,etc..report the rumor of Co-DC between Mallory and Peveto, with LSU also pursuing possibly the Purdue Special Teams Coach.

I tend to agree Covington, but considering the track record concerning new hires. I amm 100% behind any direction Miles goes. Miles knows Peveto and Mallory better than us, he won't screw it up.

There must be several people who have enquired about the job. Has to very attractive to all coordinators no matter where you are so we should get an experienced coach

Co-DC between Mallory and Peveto
I believe this will be the case, just not sure why it hasn't been announced...maybe they wanted to announce it after the celebration, as to not take anything away from the players. I would expect an announcement this week.

That being said, we have three important players that have decided to come back to play one more year (Jackson, Beckwith and Pittman)...I would assume they know who their DC will be...the fact that they have chosen to stay speaks volumes...

I've said all along that Miles has confided in all three players who the DC will be. I know one thing, if I was one of them, I sure would want to know before I made any decision.

With those 3 guys coming back for there senior years, we should not loose too much onn the defensive side of the ball. They must know something about the coordinator position

Chicken, if so, is LSU going to get a new Special Teams Coach to relieve Peveto of the workload?

any chance of a possible holdout for a nfl coach? I don't know of any possible nfl candidates still coaching.

After this period of time and no announcement, I am thinking that it is coming from within...

Mark Hagen is the purdue special teams coach, had solid numbers this year. also has a background with linebackers and defensive line and seems to be a good recruiter as well, has 7 or 8 commits this year

With the way Coach Miles has delivered, combined with his integrity and loyalty to LSU, I have no concern whatsoever that LSU will be well coached on defense next year. If he promotes from within, great!. If he splits the assignment or does it himself, I am behind him 100%.
Coach Les Miles is the best hire that LSU has made since Charlie Mac. His loyalty and committment to the tigers is the same as Coach Mac.
You need not worry about our defense. It will be fine, thank you very much.

Little known fact, but Mark Hagen lived in Baton Rouge 'til he was about 10 years old. I grew up in the same neighborhood as him and played BREC football with him.

His parents moved to Indiana around '79 or '80 and he played linebacker at Indiana in the late '80's-early '90's. He's definitely got some ties(although long ago) to Baton Rouge.
