Well he did have a huge glob of pine tar on his hat his freshman year when pitching against Tulane that was clearly pine tar. Still a stupid rule even if it was broken. I get the no vaseline and things to help the spin of a ball, but really something that is used to help a pitcher get a better grip on the ball is dumb.

Looks like "f you, you f-ing p***y." I try not to swear on here. 
I don't blame him one bit for doing it either. He's a competitor and the opposing coach for some reason singled him out when the game was pretty much out of reach. I'd take some exception too.

Was he going to the hat more than usual? Was there any reason to even think it was pine tar? Missed the game.

The SELU coach did nothing wrong. Reynolds has a big goo spot on the bill of his hat and the SELU coach is doing his job by asking the umpires to check his hat. If Reynolds was as tough as he thinks he is he would have struck the next guy out and not walked him.
