It weakens your position when you say things like "haha this is going to make trump lame duck!! Or "omg 2018 will be bloodbath" because it reveals your concern is mainly for longer term political purposes, rather than concern as an American citizen

When I see a poster on this board with a trump avatar that resembles the joker, I immediately skip the post because I know he is mainly concerned with defeating republicans in 2018

You know you have a point but coming from you, a person who flip flops at the drop of a hat based on what he thinks is best for his political sports team, it rings a little hollow.

Quit trying to stay above the fray. Neither side is interested in fighting fair.

I'd be outraged about Russia but my president told me Russia is a 1980s foreign policy concern.

You're not wrong, but it's also true that Trump is so obviously corrupt that this really can't possibly be surprising to anyone.

It's been obvious for a long time that Trump was likely coordinating behind the scenes with Russians for a long time, but regardless of that, he's been openly providing cover in his statements for the Russians and their attempts to interfere in the election even though EVERYONE knew they were and has done so to the detriment of US intelligence agencies. From a moral standpoint, that's collusion.

So, I am disgusted that the president of the United States has been collaborating with Russian intelligence to undermine our political system, but I've been disgusted about that for a long time. This report just adds to what everyone already knew. I am happy that this collusion is being uncovered, and it's primarily because it will hopefully finally disillusion at least some of the die hard Trump supporters out there.

So, basically, I'm no more concerned about Trump's collusion with the Russians tonight than I was yesterday, because I was already incredibly concerned and it was already obvious willingly aiding them. What I am, as of tonight, is ever so slightly more hopeful that more people will soon see what's been obvious for a long time, that Trump is a fraud.

The two things are not mutually exclusive, one can hope first and foremost to get a traitor/criminal removed from the most powerful position in the world, while also enjoying any political fallout that may come as a byproduct.
