He also tweeted this and got called out on it during the hearing. Comey said that is not what they stated.

Obama's press carried his water for him. Trump's press has a hard on to nail his hide to the barn door. Fight fire with fire I say.

I know Obama got kid gloves.

Trump doesn't have the capacity to go toe to toe with the press. He will just look worse.

If he just sits back, he will get treated like Bush did in his 2nd term. It may not be pretty but he's gotta fight or he will get steamrolled with bullshite stories like he is now. He's being tried in the court of public opinion and sitting back will make it worse.

Trump (likely his staff) was going wild on the @POTUS account. One of his tweets actually made it back to the hearing and was refuted.

Actually, yes. Look how much fun it is!

True, but...

There may come a day when a real emergency happens. And the president has to show true leadership and bring the country together. Given his behavior in the first 60 days, do you think he'll have the credibility to do that? I sincerely don't. I don't think he will have the public's trust to handle something of a great magnitude.

Half of the country doesn't want to be together. Though I agree, Trump could do himself some favors if he didn't fan the flames every day.

That's true but he can't let the media define and shape him into whatever they want either. All the ones on the left want him to back down for the "I told you so" bit.

They didn't on 9/10 but Bush did a good job and brought the country together. You may dislike Bush, Obama, Clinton or whomever...but by most objective measures, they all had/have a degree of credibility. Trump simply doesn't have it. He hasn't earned it.

what if he did?

That would imply he knew of an ongoing investigation that targeted Trump's staff. It would also conflict with his testimony today of him knowing anything about anyone in Trump tower getting tapped.

Why do they want the Russians to be successful?

The Russians are the clear winners so far in this farcical dispaly of dysfunctionality which is our government. In order for it to work as well as it has up to this point (for Russia) all of the actors (dems, pubs, potus, press, etc) have to act accordingly. Trump getting elected made it easier than they dreamed because of his impuslive personality and inexperience. But ultimately, the partisian nature of our 2 party system is proving to be more toxic than ever. I'd like to see some kind of amnesty declared and we move on to more important things.

Its early, but if this were a football game, Putin would be up 21-0 in 1st quarter with no turnovers.

And remind me when Obama brought us together as a nation? He is one of the primary reasons for our divide.

His following tweets were equally spot on.

Our President has been proven right again. Damnit I tell you, I'm not tired of all this winning!

There wasn't that type of a crisis in his term. I'm talking about a 9/11 / Pearl Harbor /zombie apocalypse type scenario. The type of event that could end or permanently damage the republic of it isn't handled well.

I'm surprised Trump didn't replace Comey and Rogers. No idea what he was thinking.

They're doing what's in his best interest. It's a dog and pony show to distract. You don't think comedy got permission to disclose anything telated to an ongoing investigation?

There's nothing there, it's all a distraction

You are personifying everything wrong with this country.
I am personifying the thesis that the Golden Rule applies as long as the other responds in kind. If someone is nice to you, you are nicer still to them.

But if the other guy punches you in the nose, you break his.
If he tries it again, you see to it he eats his dinner through a straw for 6wks.

If you think that is personifying everything wrong with this country, you don't know the first thing about what actually is wrong with this country.

Trump lost a lot of momentum with the Obama wiretapping tweet. Now he is going back with another questionable tweet about Obama that can't end up being anything but trouble for him.
