Boiled Seafood in the French Quarter

To which restaurants would you send folks who want to eat boiled shrimp and raw oysters (at the same time) in the FQ? They won't be here for crawfish season, so crawfish are not in the mix. Crabs would simply be a plus.

Yeah probably have to agree with Deanies.
When will they be here?
When will they be here?

All I thought of was Deanie's and Acme. Acme has "boiled seafood" listed on the menu at market price so I assume that means Acme serves boiled shrimp, but it's been eons and eons since I've eaten there. I didn't see boiled shrimp as a option at Felix's.
They will be there in August.

Is there anywhere to get crabs in the FQ? The last time my wife and I were there we were staying at the Roosevelt and the concierge couldn't tell me anywhere except to try Deanies

French Market Restaurant is the exact type of place you tell tourist to avoid. Stick with Deanies. If you must send them to FMR tell them to eat oysters somewhere else first.

I wouldn't suggest local oysters in August, sure they may be safe to eat but they won't be worth a shite. August I'd prime crab and shrimp time though.

The Bourbon House is another option. Attached to the Crowne Plaza hotel.
I've always enjoyed eating at the raw bar. A little "touristy" but still solid.

My little brother used to boil for Deanies. He said the stuff they served at the FQ location was actually boiled out in Bucktown and then transported to the FQ.

I'm not suggesting oysters. They want them and I've already warned of that time of year. I suggested Peche if they want oysters though they may not be Gulf oysters.

Good idea. I can't think of any place in the quarter for boiled, are they against a short Uber ride?

Peche would be the only place I'd get raw oysters in August as they'll have a New England variety or two you could count on being good.
