quote:

A spokesman for Neller, Lt. Col. Eric Dent, declined to say whether the evaluation of recruit training to which Neller referred may include desegregating boot camp, so that men and women would be integrated during the 13-week program.

quote:

Sen. Elizabeth Warren said the misogynistic and possible illegal behavior seen on “Marines United” and other websites is symptomatic of larger problem that starts at boot camp.

“Are you willing to reconsider the role that Marine recruit training plays in this and re-evaluate the Marine Corps’ policy of gender segregation at basic training?” Warren, D-Mass., asked.

Holy frick, What an idiot

quote:

The Marine Corps is taking a “very long look at how we do recruit training,” said Neller, who did not address whether any specific changes are being considered. He also took issue with Warren’s characterization of boot camp as segregated.

“We’re not separating men and women anymore in the Marines?” Warren asked.

quote:

Male and female recruits from all of the services live separately because they are lodged in open squad bays, Neller said, but at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island in South Carolina, both male and female recruits conduct “a good portion” of their training together,” including the Crucible, the grueling 54-hour capstone to boot camp.

“To say, that we’re segregated, I don’t believe is a fair statement,” Neller said. “But we do it differently than everybody else.”

quote:

But when Warren pressed Neller on the matter, he conceded that male and female Marine recruits do train separately during parts of boot camp.

“We are looking at the entire way that we do recruit training from how we educate and train our drill instructors to how we do the entire program of instruction for men and women,” Neller said.

quote:

On Jan. 1, 2016, then-Navy Secretary Ray Mabus had ordered the Marine Corps to completely integrate recruit training, but Corps leadership ultimately persuaded him to allow male and female recruits to continue to train separately for some events.

“The Marines did a very good job of showing ... that the way it’s done now sets both men and women up for greater success,” Mabus told Marine Corps Times on Feb. 2, 2016.

However, the Service Women's Action Network is advocating for the Marine Corps to follow the Army, Navy and Air Force by fully integrating all boot camp training.

“The Marine Corps is the only service that segregates men and women at basic training,” SWAN said in a March 6 statement. “Women Marines are physically separated from men and held to different and lower training standards. This creates and perpetuates an ‘us versus them’ environment where women are viewed as a lesser category of Marine and ultimately results in high levels of harassment and assault.”

I'm sure putting the 7.5% of women who make up the enlisted ranks of the USMC in with a bunch of anxious, stressed out 18-21 year old devildogs in the same fricking squad bay would decrease the incidences of misogyny.

They probably just need more power-points and classes, really.

No.

End of discussion.

Complete gender integration will ultimately lead to more Marines flying home in boxes.

On second thought just make women perform all of the same tasks as men with no difference in standards. The same standards men used prior to this disaster.

Let Darwin do the rest.

But they are.

This is just ignorant. Women are only inferior physically and mentally, they're equal in every other way.

We want to turn 18 year olds into killing machines, yet show empathy and respect for their fellow humans at the same time? You can't have your cake and eat it, too. Neutering the armed forces is quite possibly the dumbest thing on the progressive agenda.

My thing is, I thought with Gen. Mattis, Gen. Kelley, and Gen. Neller all being infantry officers that we would stop hearing about this shite because they'd shut it down.

One likes to think that they will find a surface-level PC justification to stop this ridiculous shite in service of reality-based mission capability.

This is dumb. You can teach them to be warriors and human beings at the same time.

The ridiculous part is amping up a bunch of 18 year old dudes and putting them next to stressed out chicks who are missing home and expect them not to frick.

This shite right here is turning the most deadly military this world has ever seen and molding it into pussy sjw shite.

I hate it. I hate it. I can understand women that want to serve in a non combat role. That's fine, there should be separate shite for people that want to do that. When it comes to bootcamp, there should only be one speed.

The root of the problem is equality. They are arguing that women don't have the same opportunities as men do. So by lowering the standards it will give them greater opportunity.

Meanwhile there was an entire study done by the corps that showed all male units outperformed coed units in almost every category with fewer injuries and less medical leave time.

That doesn't even touch on the subjects of battlefield rape, interunit adultery, or pregnancy. Are we going to dictate that women can't get pregnant in the corps?

I was part of a coed bootcamp division in the Navy back in 1996.

I hooked up with a fine chick from Kentucky who was part of my division during liberty weekend.

One of my shipmates was from the area and invited me and another male shipmate to his house. The three of us brought 3 chicks from our division. We all got drunk and laid. Twas fun times.

I believe there were 8 or 9 guys who hooked up with females from our sister division during liberty weekend (end of bootcamp before you ship out).

We're talking about the Marines here, the men's department.

And nobody believes this if you were talking about sucking dong, then we'd believe you. It's the Navy way.

Hell, you could say this for forty year old men and women too.

I'm not saying you can't. But to be effective warriors that follow orders without question, it requires a natural hard wiring that is far better suited to males; we're generally stronger and more prone to violence. Effectively feminizing that process in the name of equality is going to get a lot of men (and now women) killed.

For what it's worth, I think the Government needs to invest a LOT more money in psychiatric/mental health services for soldiers who return from deployment and when they leave military service to return to civilian life. Particularly for your combat troops, it IS hard to function as a "human being" as most understand of us understand it. We, as a nation, owe them everything that they need to transition back into civilian life.

There's a very simple fix to this problem, immediately require all female marines to meet male pt standards. Within about 4 years the problem would fix itself. Females would quit getting promoted, separate, and word would get out that females should join other branches. Problem solved.

I was lucky enough (at least people who worked with WM's would tell me) not to have to deal with female Marines when I was in. I heard a lot of shite they would have to deal with when dealing with them. ie. sleeping with higher ups to get out of stuff or get promotions amongst other things. They need to keep it as is because this is a dumb arse idea.

So the only real question is do we want the marines to be badass or do we want them to be a social experiment?
