History of the first C141 that flew in Operation Homecoming, bringing US solider POWs back home from Vietnam.
She also flew her last mission airlifting Katrina refugees.
A very special plane to a lot of American GIs and a good read. Now on display at the Air Force museum in Dayton, OH

That's a museum that anyone interested in planes needs to go to at least once in life.

I had the pleasure to work on her in Germany ... there is a spot on the plane that all of the POWs signed that was behind plexiglass it was very surreal to see

The CO of my squadron came home on that plane. He was held in captivity 2435 days after being shot down over hostile territory. He died a couple years ago and is buried at Arlington.

Great that they were able to preserve that.
Many of the POWs were invited to take a final ride before the aircraft was retired for good, that had to bring back some emotions.
