Hell, they even got a new Henry because the old one was like, "frick this."
Is it really a new Henry? I just figured he grew up.
I think what they really have to be regretting is who they cast as Matthew. He's such a goober, no way Paige would be going for him.

They need to give him a haircut. He looks like such a fool, even if it was the early 80s.

On an unrelated note, do you get the sense they've completely written Henry out of the show and they view his creation as a mistake? He got less and less screen time. The writers initially used him as friction for Paige (since she knew the family's dark secret and he did not) but now multiple episodes go by and he's not mentioned and doesn't even a cameo/walk-by appearance. Hell, they even got a new Henry because the old one was like, "frick this."
Same actor. He's just exploded in his growth. They had to time jump last season by almost a year to explain it.

I think Stan's new girl is a KGB plant and knows exactly who Philip is.
Yeah, it just seems to be going way too well. Will be interesting when Stan figures it out.

There's definitely something up with that relationship.
ETA: I hadn't really considered it until your post but his comment that was along the lines of "it's like hanging out with a girl version of you" to Philip maybe was a clue?
I just thought it was a strange line at the time.

Wow, he just looks like a completely different person. At any rate, the writers should just send him off to boarding school or something semi-plausible.

Yeah, for sure. And there was this odd moment when she introduced herself to Phillip. Maybe I read too much into it but it was like you could see it on their faces that the two already knew each other. Phillip seemed a little surprised, like maybe he didn't know the Centre was working this angle.

I had the same shirt Matthew was wearing on the couch scene. I didn't get it until 1989 as a gift from a girlfriend. It was Izod or Lacoste. She was kinda snobby and high maintenance, so there is no way that the shirt was around in 1984.
frick you wardrobe, you just ruined the best show currently on TV.

Since you don't seem to remember that Izod/Lacoste was the same in 1984, maybe it is possible the shirt was around in 1984?

In case you may have forgotten, puberty is a bitch.

I was thinking they may use the girl to get to Stan. I hope it isn't that she's a plant. Seems way too convenient.

I just have to post that I feel terrible for Oleg Burov. I would hate seeing him go down and thinking Stan set it up.

You just have to marvel at a show that has me rooting for the KGB agent to win out over the CIA Pretty much one of my favorite things about this show (well, there are a lot of favorite things about this show)

I honestly think it would be easier to see Phillip and Elizabeth go down than Oleg. Not saying I'm actively rooting against them, but at least they're murderers, and it wouldn't feel unjust.
As horrible it would be for Paige and Henry if something happened to their parents, you know how brutal it would be for the parents if something happened to Oleg, especially after his brother died. It would genuinely make it hard to rewatch scenes with his family if I rewatch the series.

Poor Randy. He should have asked.
I still think this is NOT a plan to use them as a weapon.
A starving USSR would be very dangerous. Plus, it would only serve to punish the Soviet people, and that wasn't Reagan's style.
