Maybe they were giving out old gear because he's down on his luck

Someone please confirm that this is true. I would love this move. FSU is a wolf in sheep clothing and I cant stand that football team.

Not even an on field assistant? What happened?

What? He's been demoted to this?

I'm not understanding this statement coming from an LSU fan.

I'm pretty sure they've already reached the threshold for # of actual coaches that are allowed. Assuming that this is the case, the question should now be why did Craig still want to be there.

That's kinda my point, was this his best offer? He couldn't even get an on field job?

So what was the deal with Oregon?

The NCAA is upping the number of allowed coaches by 1, probably this summer. When that happens he'll be moving to DB coach, since the DC is currently pulling double duty.

What am I missing here?

Why would a former QB and former offensive assistant coach , become a DB coach, with no defense experience?

Nothing. He hasn't coached DBs before to my knowledge. But that's what's being said, until an O spot opens.

That ain't happening this year. They didn't give programs that are a little lower down the economic ladder enough time to adjust, and it would create chaos with assistants moving around during a normally low-turnover period.
Which is why he's a QC guy. Nobody wanted to touch his @ss after NSD. Orgeron's Rolodex is big. Coaches talk. They knew what was up. He had to get in the back of the line after what went down here.

Do we know specifically what happened? Just a lazy coach?

FSU got Akers and Wilson at the end of the cycle in head to head battles with LSU.
