What I'm asking for you is why, in your own words, your position on immigration is where it is.

My stance is that we need to get a serious grip on illegal immigration for not only the national security potential but (primarily) for economic reasons.

Illegal immigrants pay only sales tax but are heavy users of services other taxes pay for. Just one effect of this has been seen in the Southwest where multiple ER's have had to close due to such overuse and abuse.

Another aspect of the economic issue is they take jobs that would have otherwise gone to citizens ranging from teens looking for part-time jobs to adults with little to no skills. A few years back I went through a McD's drive-through in Mobile, the guy handing out the orders at the 2nd window didn't speak English.

While there is and always will be a need for the cheap labor illegal immigration brings, we have exceeded the point of diminishing returns.

I don't want America to become less American.

We,as a Country, can't take care and protect all of our own citizens.

So,why in the f#@k would we bring in more people that will need taking care of.

Something these Pro-immigration folks need to accept is that everyone in the World doesn't have the Right to come here.

I don't have a problem with immigration. I have a problem with illegal immigration.

We have a process for coming into this country. I know plenty of people who've gone thru that process to be here. It's unfair and disrespectful to them when they've worked so hard and others get a free pass.

In simplest terms, liken it to somebody cutting in front of you in line at the grocery store. I wouldn't put up with that. Neither would you.

My wife is an immigrant who did things the correct way and became a U.S. citizen. I was an immigrant to another country, taking permenant residency there before deciding to return to the U.S. So this perspective is coming from someone who has been through the workings of a couple of different immigration systems. I would like for the left and those in other nations who oppose our immigration policy to answer these questions: Illegal immigrates are people who have circumvented the system. They jumped the line, making it unfair to those who are trying to immigrate the correct way. Why should the United States forgive them with blanket amnesty? Why reward them for breaking federal laws? When did the United States lose its sovereignty? Why does the United States not have the right to enforce its immigration laws and protect its borders as it sees fit, like every other nation on the planet does? Why does the United States have to be different, just because the rest of the world says so?

The world seems pissed that we no longer want to be the milk cow of the world anymore, nor be the dumping grounds of every refugee from every Godforesaken hellhole on the planet. I'm glad the United States is reasserting its sovereignty.

This seems to be a popular talking point for the right.

Then why was it ok to include those with Green Cards and Visas in the travel ban?

Because the majority of immigrants to the U.S. depend on public benefits, draining our resources. If the U.S. did a merit based system like most sane countries, I'd be all for it. But as it is now, most immigrants that come here depend on us to support them.

We live in a collectivist society, it's time we started having standards like one.

Why are you asking us? You think we wrote or helped write that EO? Don't be stupid.

I knew one Hispanic kid in high school. He is cool. We were friends. I ride to work today (same county) and see 5 Hispanics for every black and white combined. They are basically illiterate, 3rd world poor with no skill outside of labor. Honestly, if it weren't for the Dems taking advantage of their ignorance to secure easy votes, thereby completing the murder of our country, I wouldn't have a real problem with Hispanics, path to citizenship, etc.

But the REAL BOTTOM LINE- we are broke. Dead arse broke. We are borrowing money from China and giving it to non-citizens. We have poor here that could use the help. It's crazy.

We are actually way worse than broke and I agree. We can't even feed and house our own. Let's get that in order and then help the rest of the world. We went to far with our bleeding hearts and now we can't help anyway and not go further in debt.

Employers break the law when they hire illegal immigrants. They should be prosecuted.

Illegal immigrants are breaking the law. I get why they want to come here. Do it the right way.

Combine these two statements and you have organized human trafficking. Human trafficking brings with it additional unlawful activities. It's a bad snowball effect.

Because the travel band included 7 specific countries who wouldn't, or couldn't, properly vet Green Cards or Visa's. When a bomb goes off in a theater it's not your sensitive feelings towards muslims I worry about.

I'd like the US to go to a points (merit) based immigration system similar to the one Canada has.

You realize that the inclusion of GC and Visa holders is the very reason the ban was overturned by the ninth right?

Just about everyone here was up in arms over that decision, so I'm surmising that you are not ok with legal immigration.

I recognize that genetic and cultural differences are important. The Left wants to immigrate low-IQ populations that will rely on the welfare state and reliably support the Left's quest for power.

As Al Gore would say, that's an inconvenient truth.

Except I don't see it as a talking point. I view it as common sense. Something I'm guessing you just don't get.
