What's the single most important part of the golf swing in your opinion?

curious to hear y'all's thoughts.
i'd say "releasing" the club or straightening the trail elbow after the ball.

hitting the ball.
Without that, all else is irrelevant.

Lower body turn. The face can be as square as you want it to be, but if you don't swing from the ground up you'll get no distance or spin when hitting onto the green.

Proper set up.
80% of the golf swing is over before you swing- Jack Nicklaus

hitting the ball.
but this is the last thing that happens and is separated from everything else, i submit that it is not in fact part of the swing.
e.g. i can make a golf swing without hitting the ball

Start to finish. If you have a kink in your swing, it shows in your shot.

It's gotta be keeping your lead arm relatively straight, no? People who bend to he frick out of their arms through the backswing have the worst shoulder turn and the most inconsistent contact because their shoulder turn sucks and they can't find the bottom of their swing and they bend their knees all over the place to find it and shite.
Having a solid front arm checks a ton of boxes for me. Most of all it keeps damn near every aspect of my swing consistent enough to play respectable golf even when something might be off.

Making sure you play it down

Finishing on the same plane you were on when you took back the club.
