Not a good day for Louisiana so far. Tulane and Tech eliminated, McNeese and SLU sent to losers bracket.

UNO is up 2-0 on SLU after one inning. I guess both have to win four games in two days to win the tournament.

SLU was sitting at 25 RPI as of yesterday.

If SLU doesn't make a regional with a Top 30 RPI, I doubt McNeese will either without winning the tourney, especially if they lose today.
Which they appear to be trying to do. Down 5-3 in the Top of the 6th, runners as 1st and 3rd with 2 outs, they BUNT THE BALL!!!

And I don't know how this tournament is formatted, but how the frick the #1 seed is the "road" team 2 games in a row escapes me. Makes no sense. Especially not when they are playing the 4 seed, which has had a home and away game as well.

Even if he would have been safe, that's a ridiculously risky move. If he looks to beat the throw, what stops them from just going home for the tag? Not smart.

I'm hoping they still make it...we were visiting team last two games in a row as well. Played stellar from the home side, not so much from the other.

The coin flip bs for home team is stupid, the higher seed should get home field every game.
SLU will get in, their OOC SOS and RPI are both top 20, and they are 16-10 against the top 100 (8-5 I believe without checking against the top 50). McNeese will be on the bubble, but another win or two should do it unless the auto bids get funky. SLC may get 3 teams in this season.

Well, there won't be anymore wins. Damn it.
I've got a bad feeling we miss the tourney now, which frickin sucks considering how the season started. Having bad records against the Top 50 and Top 100 are going to hurt us now.

Sucks...quite the somber attitude around here, and will be moreso when McNeese gets back. McNeese and SLU stayed in same hotel.

Depending how things shake out could we see one the last four in coming down to McNeese, Cajuns, and Tech? Depending where they are when the dust settles who gets in? Mcnees has a better RPI than Tech, but a worse record against the top 100, and they split the series. Tech is the same in regard to the Cajuns. Would Tech get the nod due to CUSA being a top 5/6 conference?

If ULL doesn't win the conference tourney, they are more than likely out. Very few people seem to think they are in otherwise, and those all hold that they HAVE to at least make the conference championship.
McNeese should still get nod over LA Tech at this point. Higher RPI, won their regular season conference title.
However, McNeese lost 7 of their last 15. They are probably out.

Maybe someone else could help ya there....I'm far from knowing the inner workings of how how all that goes down. I'm just an alum that enjoys cheering for the team and going on beer-drinking road trips
