OT mechanics... single "knock" from front when in drive and braking

Only while in drive, upon pressing and releasing the brakes there is a single knock. Just recently replaced the pads. I've never had this happen before. Any ideas?

That would be the homeless person you ran over reminding that he's still stuck in the undercarriage.

Year model? Make? Model? Miles? Engine size? Automatic or manual transmission?
Just small stuff like that, nothing special.

I have a chevy pickup and have heard this before...never have figured out what causes it, but it hasn't gotten worse over ten years.

I'm trashy and I had a mustang that had a broken motor mount that did this once. Didn't make noise on startup or anything else, just when braking. Was pretty weird. I bought some common parts that could cause it and it was a damn motor mount.
