Right off the bat, I think 100% of Democrats would support impeachment, but Republicans control congress.

Then you have the GOPe. I guarantee a lot of the donor class despises Trump, and everybody loves Pence. You can't deny Pence is very presidential. I bet a lot of GOPe people are just salivating thinking about President Pence.

Enter the Russia stuff. What would it take to flip a few GOPe, who already want the guy out and Pence in and who have a hard on for hating Russia, to impeach? Something short of Trump actually being a Russian spy, I would assume.

I am sure TRUMP is well aware of this possibility and is planning for it, but I think it's something to keep in mind as the Russia thing continues to linger with the possibility of snowballing into something more serious.

What kind of country do we live in where we want to impeach a president who has yet to have a scandle, civil crime or war crime?

Is this what they call a concern troll?

It's far too ridiculous to be legitimate.

A high crime. "Sour grapes" isn't a constitutional basis for impeachment.

He will have to commit a felony or some other really egregious act.

If his ties to Russia are actually investigated it maybe the end of him

But he's likely here till 2020 then will be soundly voted out

Eta: stupidity is not impeachable. If stupidity were a crime there would be very few posters left in poli board

Is this real life? You honestly believe The GOPe cares about "Russia stuff" and the "Russia thing"? They currently control the majority of DC. The fact that you made this thread, with no detail and no substance other than using the words stuff and thing, show me you're a troll. Do you honestly think the GOPe would turn on Trump and risk their control because of the "Russia Stuff".

Obama played the race card. Hillary played the woman card. Americans played the TRUMP card.

To answer the OPers question... not much. Democrats and a bunch of the republicans have been blackmailed for years.

Trump comes in and every pedophile in Washington on both sides of the aisle are afraid for their freedom.

It wouldn't take almost anything for Trump's impeachment to sack him!

Yall need to realize that if they were to take a vote to impeach Trump right now on the grounds that he is having a bad hair day it would be a very close vote.

Better for a congressman to explain why he voted to impeach for nothing than to go to jail for pedophilia.

Probably the ONLY reason this or something similar hasn't happened is because Pence would be the President and that might not help them. Could even hurt their chances of staying out of jail.

Depends on where this Russia stuff leads. I don't think that itself is enough to get him impeached, but it is already getting to him. If it continues and he goes full retard in response, it might lead to an impeachment attempt.

The other possibility is a foreign policy or military disaster. Either due to wag the dog related to the paragraph above, or just Trump being Trump.

I put the odds at significantly less than 50-50 at this point. The GOP likes being completely in charge too much to throw it all away just yet. But stay tuned. If Trump becomes an albatross, they'll throw him under the bus to save themselves.

No. Some Democrats are in districts that voted for Trump. Their re-election is more important than anything.

Impeachment is not the same as removing from office. Most of you need to learn what impeachment really is.

The true answer to your question is...

The house would need 26 Republicans to vote for it.

The Senate would need 18 Republican Senators.

That is assuming all Democrats and Independents voted for it.
