WaPo: How many structurally deficient bridges are in your county?

East Baton Rouge 19.4% are deficient
Orleans Parish 8.6% are deficient
I don't see what's wrong with the Chef Menteur Bridge or the Mississippi River bridge in Baton Rouge. Both of those bridges represent the epitome of forward thinking transportation needs.

None. I don't live in a county.

An entire section of interstate running through the heart of downtown Birmingham is a bridge, and it is crumbling. They are now replacing it, but it has been deficient for a while.

I dont know about the entire county, but the one bridge in our town was recently declared "functionally obsolete"

So you don't believe approx. 1 in 5 bridges in EBR Parish are deficient?
They need to define "deficient" because I don't believe that either.

Practically got the same thing between Little Rock and North LR. Feds wouldn't even approve money for repairs. They said the whole thing has to be replaced.

The Jimmie Davis Bridge in Bossier has been deficient for 4 years. They can't fix it because of the EPA. There are some birds nesting under the roadway in the support beams. When the birds hatch their eggs and fly off construction cannot start because the birds will come back before repair is finished.

0.8% of the bridges in Harris County, Texas.
Texas
About a year ago they repaired the bridge right near my house. It wasn't falling apart or anything. It was just time to do some maintainence work.

Replacing it is a colossal mistake. It should have been rerouted.

Zero. Obama fixed them all with that Trillion dollars back in '09.

The French and their parishes.

There are only a few bridges though. One large and a half dozen smaller.

I don't think most are qualified to distinguish that here without actually looking at the underside of each individual bridge.

It was actually built in the 60s (it is Interstate 20/59). The thing literally is starting to crumble. Well over 100,000 vehicles drive on it a day. Birmingham will be a nightmare once they shut down the current bridge and people have to take surface streets to get through that area. Problems will persist for years, as there is zero chance it will finish within even a year of the scheduled completion date. There is also an interchange right beside it where it connects to Interstate 65. The interchange is known as "Malfunction Junction". The whole area will be a nightmare.

Forgot to add that the bitch Republicans nixed that idea. According to them, shovel ready jobs aren't real jobs and it wasn't approved. But now, those same jobs are considered great. Such hypocrites.

We have Burroughs and in some cases unified governments. Some of our cities are several thousand sq miles
