I am not a very good talent evaluator, but I always like the idea of taking an alpha " football player" in general. These are the guys who make lack in measurables , but who are leaders and make plays . Every great team has a few of those hard nosed guys who just get it, they block punts and throw key blocks and recover fumbles on special teams etc. maybe he fits that mold more than being a fournette/guice/insane physical specimen.

He fits that mold. A very smart kid with speed and heart.

I agree, he's just an athlete. Like one of his coaches said, "Roll the ball out there and he'll figure it out. Sport doesn't matter". That's not to say he's physically weak. He's 6' with shoes, above 5'11" barefoot. Weighs 195. Physically, he's ready to play slot in college.

I agree, Bolden will be a star somewhere, but probably not LSU, though I wish he would be offered. Cannot understand him being only a 3-star. Who knows, could be something like McCaffrey at Standford.

I can dig it. Kid is well put together and looks like he can get down the field pretty good.

Absolutely. Washington has recruited him the hardest so far.

Petersen gave him his first P5 offer, correct? Not too many kids from the south come up to the PNW, so I'm still considering it a long shot, especially with his more recent SEC offers.

I've been hearing about this kid from a coaching buddy of mine since he was in the 7th grade.

Said he would bet anything Slade has a pro sports career. The kid is just a winner.

I don't have to look very long to see that he's a Hunter Renfrow clone. Looks exactly like him no doubt a slot guy that will make tons of plays for you and give defense's fits. You put this guy on the field with 6'5" Athletes and you have major trouble for a defense. Could do several things with him and deserves to be seriously looked at IMO. Hopefully he gets that offer, he's just a baller. GT

I would say offer him as a slot, kid appears to have the speed and doesn't shy away from contact. you can create mismatches by having him line up in the backfield also

Tech was first overall. I think Iowa State was first P5. It was close between Iowa State and Washington. Both offered during Spring Practice.

If Peterson likes him, I like him. Anybody that can recruit to Boise St. and win against the big guys, knows his stuff.

This is how Perterson recruits and it's very successful so I think LSU should recruit similar which I believe O does to some degree but could be better at. You offer the kids that are hardnosed football players that just have that knack for always being in the right places at the right times. IMO there are 2* 3* 4* and 5* guys like this and you should find them and hand them that scholly no matter how popular he might be. Like someone said above mix in these type players with the studs we have and you create a football TEAM, because those hard nosed players will rub off. If you have a class full of 4* and 5* kids that just know they're good, that all they want is to make an NFL team, then you don't really have a team. Les did ok with this especially the last two classes he signed but for a minute there after 2011 it was a little confusing to me. I hope this changes, and believe it will. These type players are what I would be going after not the ones that think the world owes them something. I think until O changes the winning culture here you will continue to see those La. guys go to Bama bc well lots of La boys have this attitude. Sad and needs to be changed but will NOT come over night.
