Is there any scenario where we make a coaching change after this season?

At least with Monty coaching it felt like we just needed one or two more solid players to make the jump, now it seems like no matter who we get it won't matter because we give up 140 to the frickin nets.
AD is a great rim protector, Jru is said to be one of the better denfending guards. We even went out and got Solomon Hill who's more of a defender and we still are a terrible defensive team

Definitely a coach problem, but gm is a bigger issue than not.
This is where you need to make a gm change and allow them to guide your team. Gentry can work if he gets pieces he desires. Dell just likes to get puzzle pieces from 2 different boxes and says make it work.

There is no question that we should fire Gentry this year. This is the healthiest season Jrue and AD have had and the results aren't there. End game poor decision making is why our shite team sucks. Gentry and Demps should both be fired.
I'm seriously perplexed as to why Jrue constantly has nowhere to go with the ball and forces turnovers and AD disappears. fricking perplexed.

Same, and it looks like Heild is told to not shoot unless he's wide open and meanwhile Moore will come in and throw up 10 ridiculous shots in a row.
It just doesn't seem like we have a plan

They've been a Top 10 defensive team for most of the season at this point. The defense is not the problem. They've had a bottom 5 offense all season. If you want to point fingers, that is where you start. Blaming the defense while pointing to 1 game of an 82 game season might as well be screaming "I DON'T PAY ATTENTION, BUT I AM ANGRY!" That's a totally valid sentiment given how mediocre this mostly-healthy team now is, but at least get the deficiencies right. This team is atrocious offensively, and mostly decent defensively.

I don't think Gentry is a bad coach, but I do think he is a bad game manager. It doesn't appear to me that he maximizes the talent around him. Sure, players like him but I don't necessarily know if they respect him. Based of the conjecture that was thrown out recently by Wesley, there doesn't seem to be that professional mindset and that willingness to stay honed in that Monty had for his players.
I think you need someone that is somewhere in the middle which isn't easy to find. I don't know who that guy is her per se but I if a coaching change were to take place it needs to be someone that commands respect, manages talent well, and players want to play for. I hope that guy is Ettore Messina.

If he doesn't have those pieces why not adapt the strategy to get the most out of the players he does have?
Is this a square peg-round hole scenario?

By what metric? We give up 106 and allow 50% fg
I mean I'm not going to pretend like i watch every game, but I have a hard time believing we are a top 10 defensive team

By what metric?
The most widely accepted statistic for measuring team defensive performance, Defensive Rating. The Pels allow 105.1 points per 100 possessions, which is currently tied for 9th in the league. They've been top 10 much of the season and have maintained that ranking even with some of the more recent high scoring games.

There's a reason demps is going for okafor.
Honestly if we were to dump asik or ajinca and something between a 10 and lottery protected pick for 2018. Then continue to tank and got a top 5 pick and got one of the badass small forwards. That to me puts us at a 6 seed in two or three years. Assuming we resign jrue of course.
Jrue
Buddy
Jackson/hill
AD
Okafor
That's not a bad starting lineup by any means

Fun Bunch summed it up best
Demps gave a defensive coach (Monty) offensive talent and we ended up with a top 10 offense and bottom 5 defense.
Then he gave an offensive coach (Gentry) defensive talent and we ended up with a top 10 defense and bottom 5 offense.
As much as people want to blame the coaching, most coaches are only going to go as far as the roster takes them.

You think coaching was the reason Lebron won championships at Miami?
There are a few coaches that separate themselves (Pop, etc.), and then there is the world of average. Gentry, unfortunately, just falls somewhere in that range imo. He's not good by any stretch, but he's really not all that terrible either.
If Hill was averaging 10-15 points a game we'd be an entirely different team, and that would have nothing to do with Gentry.

I'd go with Jeff van gundy and get rid of both of them. Think van gundy would still do it and actually have a plan like Stan van in Detroit
