Is it OK to give a neighbor dog a treat so they will shut up?

Or should I check with the neighbor first.

Really, I just want them to shut up and not follow me and try to nip at my heals when I walk to my own mailbox on my own driveway in my own yard.

The only way I've been able to deal with it is I just stand there and watch them until they get bored then walk away. But that is 3 minutes of them barking at me.

The whole time the owner doesn't come out to correct them.

So...I can do a little positive reinforcement...

I was taught that you never let another man befriend/pet/feed your dog because if they come creepin, the dog won't bark at them to alert you.

I wouldn't mind.

But then again, I'm not like 50% of America that gets upset about every little thing.

You seem upset with 50% of Americans

So just upset with every other thing?

If you give it treats you will still have the dog following you around but it won't be barking.

I say do what you want. If the neighbor really cared he wouldn't let his yappy dog run loose.

It tried to chomp on my foot when on my bike but it missed. I was in the kicking position after that.

Is it OK to kick a neighbors dog?

Do they not care that their dogs are barking and barking at their neighbor while their neighbor is on their own lawful property?

If the dog tried to bite you on your own property or in the street, choot it.

Even better, get a handful of cheap treats/food that dogs like.....toss in grass and they'll go searching & forget all about you.

The idiots in the thread that will no doubt talk about harming the dog when it isn't needed or worst poisoning the dog are always the biggest pussies on here.

I wouldn't mind. I have pretty chill neighbors.

Also, give it pot brownies and profit?
