Honestly I don't know if one ever has. The psychological aspect of it is unparalleled to me

Sybil and Jacob's Ladder were also like inhabiting a nightmare.

Yeah..shite like Sid looking in the red room, while in their psychic white bedroom, and seeing the dog and the angriest child is so creepy and well done.
Or Lenny coming out of the mirror and tormenting Amy.

That thing can get fricked. Creepiest thing by far. Even more so than the green eyed monster

When asked is he thought the book might ever be released to the public, Stevens said the network would probably find a way to produce it and tie it into the show. He did, however, question whether the disturbing book should ever be sold in the same section of a bookstore that sells more pleasant, typical children’s books. “I wonder if they're going to publish it,” Stevens said. “I imagine they will! But it would be a little weird if it ended up on some child's bookshelf. Scratch that. That's an awful idea.”

This show man...It's the show I most look forward to each week now but I can't tell you specifically why I like it. It's just so different.

They need to start this show sooner than 9. I don't want this to keep being the last thing on my mind before I go to bed

I just learned David and Matthew Crawley are played by the same actor. He looked very familiar, but I couldn't place him.
What The frick

So...they've been in the "hospital" the whole time?

Set up episode. Couldn't be helped I guess.
They are in the astral plane I guess to protect David and control them. Oliver is shuttling them out.

Definitely "stuck in astral limbo". My thought is leaning more toward the monster placing them in this limbo reality, getting their personalities and state of mind, and molding the environment around all of that so that they feel that it is real and don't question the nature of this limbo reality. Syd has slowly began to notice cracks in it though. The part that was odd for me was Lenny's motives. Is the monster simply placing her in an authoritative position/freedom in this limbo to keep her mind from wandering, or does she has more sinister reasons?

Lenny and the monster are the same thing.

The show has essentially revealed what's really going on. There are confusing images and whatnot but the plot is straightforward.
- There is a monster who is a parasite from the astral plane, who has been feeding off David since he was an infant.
- the monster feeds off power, but now is stronger and wants to use David's body to live in the real world.
- the monster knew David's father, and battled him as well, presumably Charles Xavier (said that without saying it this week)
- Xavier hid David to try to save him from the monster.
- the monster takes various persona while interacting with David, first the dog, now Lenny.
- the monster had taken over David's body, now in his house, and trapped David in the astral plane, last week.
- those in the room where the Eye attacked David are frozen in a moment in time, while their minds are trapped in the astral plane, under the control of the monster/Lenny.
- Some are becoming aware that they are trapped and not really in the hospital.

I was definitely leaning toward Lenny/monster being one of the same.
Good episode as always.

A few more thoughts:
- the dance scene was just the monster reveling in its victory, it's freedom in controlling David. It moved freely through various of his memories over the years and danced openly. Early in the show he was only seen fleetingly and in the shadows or in a closet. That was literally a victory dance.
- I don't know how they could more clearly say who David's father is without saying "Xavier". The monster said he fought him as in on the astral plane, and called him self righteous or something like that.
- I don't know yet if the show will introduce the other elements of Legion from the comics such as other personalities. Those in the show now seem real enough, other than the fake Lenny put on by the monster.

This here. They even showed how the bullets were almost frozen in time while they were living in this alternate reality.
- Gunman tries to shoot David
- Syd jumps in front and says "Go to the white room"
- All are now in David's white room (his mind)
- Parasite/monster then takes over all there and now has them in an alternate reality to control them
