Sad.

But it isn't uncommon for 8 year olds in south La to have ATVs.

Just a shame she wasn't being watched more closely.

CSB...I went to a songwriter event during Christmas where Jaime was preforming. I sat right behind Jaime's mom and daughter. Jaime was saying everything she does(song writing and music) is for her daughter and when she would mention her, the daughter in front of me would get very excited and proud.

hope she gets better

It's really sort of mindboggling the number of people there are that think those things are basically childrens toys.

I had my own 50cc Honda as a kid in elementary school and we would ride the woods in Kenner for hours.

Now they just have cooler atvs.

I just spoke to the child's father. Keep them all in your prayers. She did show some responsive movement which is great news. The accident happened on private family land.

We had a frickin Honda 70 three wheeler, same basic engine big bored as the 50, we flipped that bitch all the damn time. Surprised no one ever got seriously hurt. I remember riding that thing by myself in first or second grade. Kids ride dirt bikes earlier than that.

Not mine, but looked a lot like this one.

If you ride an atv, you're almost asking for it.

Especially at EIGHT fricking years old

It seems like a have heard several stories of young people and children being seriously injured or killed on those ATV's. Not sure that I would feel comfortable with a kid riding one.

I fell off an ATV at around age 8-10. Three of us kids riding on it, trying to go up a steep hill. The ATV flipped on it's bottom but luckily did not topple over on us or that would have been bad.

I know I have no room to talk because I've been riding horses since I was 4, but 4 wheelers scare the shite out of me.

Motorcycles too.

If it makes you feel any better, I lived through riding a 4 wheeler when I was younger. No broken bones or stitches either.

I remember at 10 riding with my cousin on an old 110 three wheeler. flipped it in a rut and it ended up on top on me pinning me to the road. Thankfully the seat was on me and not the hot engine. Broke a wrist but overall was lucky.
