Keep your thoughts here so we can stop all your useless threads.

The man is the best DL coach we have ever had. Period.

Educate yourself if you think otherwise or GTFO.

Giving Austin Thomas the ability to recruit as a coach while letting Jenkins focus on actual coaching is pretty damn awesome.

A recruit saying that Coach Jenkins needs to pay them more attention is akin to a wannabe Jedi saying that Yoda should pay them more attention. It is them that should pay attention to Yoda. This you either do, or do not.

Jenkins being on this staff is a huge get for us, anyone that thinks otherwise is insane. And Mathis is nothing more than a coward who didn't have the balls to just go to Bama without throwing the greatest DL coach of this generation (Saban's quite not mine) under the bus. We need coaches who can actually COACH their positions. And yes I was harsh to an 18 year old, where I am from you are responsible for your actions especially at that age. So spare me the bleeding heart shite about being critical of 18 year olds like they are 12 or something.

I haven't seen Jenkins hate.
Is this like so much of he "hate" referred to on this board when someone disagrees with a hiring / firing/ coaching decision ( ex. "Miles Hate" or "Orgeron Hate")?
I heard the excuse given by Mathis.
However, I would not have expected Jenkins to be involved in his recruitment in any significant way.

Nobody "hates" coach Jenkins. But, if he can't recruit and that inability is truly what cost LSU commitments from Phidarian Mathis and Marvin Wilson, that state of affairs cannot continue much longer if we truly want to compete with the Alabama's of the world.

No one competes with the Alabama of the world for more than a year or two. There are not Alabamas out there. They have more staff, money, the SEC office including refs and scheduling, stipends for players, no governing body keeping them in line. This is the simple truth and I have decided to accept the reality. It is truly amazing they ever lose a game.

Pete is a damn good coach and is recognized by: well pretty much everyone in the know, but one 18 YO uses him as an excuse to go to Bama, several on this board decide to go with the kid. Mathis, trying to make things easier on his family and himself for leaving throws the old guy under the bus. Classy move Mathis. I don't have a problem with Moses, Allen, Buggs, or Smith, but this is pure BS.

No 17 yr old kid is going to listen to or fall in love with a 75 yr old coach. The recruitment of that kid is best assigned to someone younger with whom the kid can identify.
I suspect that was the approach used by LSU to def. linemen this year. not sure I want Jenkins out recruiting...

That's just how things are these days due to recruiting the most highly sought after players in the nation. They get their arses kissed constantly and can obviously see that Jenkins isn't the arse kissing type in the least.

Idk if many of yall are familiar with Harvey Adger, he's the been the Glen Oaks head bb coach for 40 years. Old school guy, kinda like John Wooden, the type we can all appreciate. Well, the kids nowadays don't appreciate his old school ways and all going to Madison Prep, who is in turn winning state championship after state championship. I think in a similar way Pete Jenkins might just be out of tune with the mentality of young athletes these days. A steong relationship is the first thing kids are looking for from a coach, and the middle ground there might just be too wide!

Right, same with Jenkins. As was stated when he came on staff, as I recall.
