Is there a place in New Orleans that makes good boudin king cake? The only place I can find is Cafe Cake & Bakery in the Bywater and they only make tiny ones.

I need one for Saturday. If y'all cant help me I'm gonna end up trying this myself and I'm not really a baker... boudinlink.com

Don't know where to go in New Orleans, but I've made this a couple of times and people raved. It's real easy because you use canned dough.

It started in Lafayette, so it's gotta be good.

Everyone is supposed to bring a king cake to this party on Saturday. I can't take that much sugar, so I wanted to try a boudin one.

I would love to know the same thing.

The only ones I've been able to find in New Orleans have tomatoes in them.

Thanks, but he told me they had them last year and could not get them again this year. He said they used to get them from Heavenly Bakery in BR and still recommends them.

Oh ok. I did get it from there a few times last year, figured they would do the same this year. Sorry

I made a couple of those last year and they were great.

This year I plan to make them in straight lines. I would suspect they will taste just as good and will take up less room on the baking sheet.

I wanted to get another one this year and was looking around. Have not called yet but these guys seem to be doing it.

The boudin king cake craze reached the Crescent City through Cake Cafe.

Steve Himelfarb, owner of the New Orleans bakery, said his Facebook feed had suddenly blown up with posts about boudin king cake.

"I'm like, 'What the heck is going on?' Himelfarb said. "Wednesday, I got an early start and was done early. I said, 'I want to know what this tastes like,' and I made a dozen, took a picture and before I knew it, I was getting calls."
