We'll have a few guys leave early after this season, and there will be transfers as always in baseball. On another note, isn't Dup a draft eligible sophomore this year, a la Deich last year...?

I'll check my spreadsheet tomorrow, but from what I remember there are no draft eligible sophomores on the team this year, though Reid was close.

Next year slaughter and Hess will be.

ETA: No draft eligible sophomores for LSU this season. If the draft is around the same date next year, Watson, Slaughter, and Hess will all be DES.

I think he missed the cutoff by a month or so, he'll be eligible for the 2018 draft.

Nice. I see we are going back to our 2009 magic. I believe we had 7 players who were also QBs for their highschool.

in addition to his great high school baseball career, Walker was a three-year starting quarterback for an outstanding football team at the 6A level in Texas, and he is a tremendous leader.

The cutoff birthday this year was 7/27/1996 (feel old, bitches!), or turning 21 years old within 45 days of the draft, which is on 6/12/17.

Reid missed the cutoff by 9 days, Duplantis by 40 days.

Additionally, Duplantis shares a birthday (one year apart) with the Jordan twins.

Kramer, Coomes, Walker, Beck, and Woley at least on this team, maybe more than that.

I'm kind of sad that you've finished all the position previews and there are no more to look forward to. On the bright side, that means that we are only about a week away from actual baseball. Thanks again for writing these up. Love that it sparks up some baseball discussion, which we've all been deprived of for half a year or so.

Btw, I gotta ask... what is your avi? Something wearing aviators?

Watson and Coomes may get more PT in week one than anyone expected.

Deichmann is really struggling in RF. It's the toughest OF position at tBox and he's dropping routine fly balls. Wouldn't be surprised to see Breaux take RF and Deichmann DH. Or maybe late inning defensive subs with a Watson. It's been that bad.

I thought he was fine in the fall. But he has not played consistently well out there this spring. Hoping he settles in. But with Bryce out and Templet and Romero injured, too, it could be an easier call to put Breaux out there who his playing very well and let Deichmann DH.

PM basically threw a tantrum the other day when he had 2 errors in 1 scrimmage.

Damn. I thought I heard he was looking comfortable out there. Is this a recent thing or has he always struggled there?

It seems recent. Like I said, he was doing well in the fall.
