Totally lost and dishonest Al Sharpton is busy spreading nasty falsehoods about Jesus to further his political causes! How long until he revokes his title of Reverend and uses the title of Community Organizer?

Rev. Al Sharpton has faced backlash on social media for his Sunday tweet saying Jesus was a refugee. The tweet appeared to be a response to President Donald Trump's executive order on immigration. There's one problem though: Sharpton's tweet is not exactly accurate, at least according to the Bible. As a result, he found himself in the middle of a social media firestorm.

Well there's an entire book of the bible based on a refugee. Sharpton should have gone with that.

His buddy Jessie was saying the same thing this weekend on Fox.
They just make shite up as they go along. Always have, always will.

I'm not worried because I don't think the second coming of Christ is within the current crop of Syrian refugees.
Oh, and Al better render unto Ceaser what is Ceaser's and pay his damn taxes.

Yeah, this was the impression I was under. Didn't Mary and Joseph flee with Jesus to Egypt temporarily because King Herod had ordered all newborn males killed?

Make of this from Matthew 2 what you will. Joseph had to flee to another country with the infant Jesus for fear of his life.
"13 When they had gone, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream. “Get up,” he said, “take the child and his mother and escape to Egypt. Stay there until I tell you, for Herod is going to search for the child to kill him.”
14 So he got up, took the child and his mother during the night and left for Egypt, 15 where he stayed until the death of Herod. And so was fulfilled what the Lord had said through the prophet: “Out of Egypt I called my son.”
"13 When they had gone, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream. “Get up,” he said, “take the child and his mother and escape to Egypt. Stay there until I tell you, for Herod is going to search for the child to kill him.”

Yep but that alone doesn't make Jesus a refugee.

When the Magi come in search of Jesus, they go to Herod the Great in Jerusalem and ask where to find the newborn "King of the Jews". Herod becomes paranoid that the child will threaten his throne, and seeks to kill him (2:1-8). Herod initiates the Massacre of the Innocents in hopes of killing the child (Matthew 2:16-Matthew 2:18). But an angel appears to Joseph in a dream and warns him to take Jesus and his mother into Egypt (Matthew 2:13).
Egypt was a logical place to find refuge, as it was outside the dominions of King Herod, but both Egypt and Israel were part of the Roman Empire, linked by a coastal road known as "the way of the sea",[1] making travel between them easy and relatively safe.

Leaving your home to escape persecution and/or death. Kind of textbook there.

Yes, he did. The three of them could fit the definition of refugees. They certainly fled in fear of their lives.
They did not, however, permanently resettle in Egypt. Ideally, resettlement of refugees should be temporary until they can safely return home.
Like Jesus did.
