I would say that the only thing that people up is elections, but that would not apply here. But I simply don't think that the dems care who's out there spouting off at the mouth. To them, maybe they'd rather Madonna, etc. be their mouthpiece so the policy makers don't say something that could threaten their gravy train senate/congressional seat.

IDC that Hollywood actors all seem to be liberal. That's their right. What I do care about is the smug and arrogant way they routinely talk down to us stupid folk who don't really know what's in our best interest. Thank god that by raking in millions per movie and living in their exclusive and luxurious gated mansions they can stay in touch with mainstream America and help keep us on the right path.

Man your convictions, but don't be an condescending a-hole about it. I don't even care that they try and use their platforms and fame to sway voters -- it's proven to be ineffective.

People that really didn't care what they had to say, didn't hear them at all.

Actually, my spouse and I have been doing this for many years. We only go to the theater about 3 times a year and we are very selective about which movies we watch. I will not watch any movie including a outspoken liberal progressive like Meryl Streep. I would add that I am also steering clear as much as possible liberal dominated companies like Google who are determined to advocate their political agenda as part of their business model.

I have said this before but what these industries need is some good old fashion competition from individuals/businesses who are at least politically neutral in creating their public image. And just like the Fox News success in the news business, there is a huge opportunity for this model in many industries.
