Report: Teddy Bridgewater likely to miss 2017 season
Bridgewater, a central piece of Minnesota’s offense and building process, was injured in practice in August prior to the 2016 season, tearing his ACL and dislocating his knee while planting to throw a pass. Doctors reportedly told the team he will need at least 19 months, which would mean he misses the entire season again.
The 24-year-old former first-rounder threw for 14 touchdowns and 3,231 yards in 2015, leading Minnesota to the playoffs where they fell 10–9 to the Seahawks.
Sans Bridgewater, the Vikings acquired Sam Bradford via trade, who threw for 3,877 yards, 20 touchdowns and five interceptions as the Vikings went 8–8.

They say this every time someone tears an ACL. Then they come back in a miraculous recovery time

"He may never play again"
"Doc told me I should be doing what I'm doing"
"I'm 10 months ahead of my recovery! I just work that hard!!"

I've also never heard 19 months for a recovery time until this one, unless we're talking about 10-20 years ago.

Wasn't his knee injury much more serious than your average ACL tear anyways?

dude didn't just tear his ACL his femur basically ripped off his tibia. look up tibiofemoral dislocation. they were worried he might lose his leg at first.

Yeah he pretty much ripped everything there is to rip and is lucky he still has a leg to stand on

This isn't the 80's anymore and this isn't just an ACL tear though.

I'm always amazed at how far sports medicine has come. In the 70's/80's if you tore an ACL, or had the ACL/MCL combo, you were pretty much finished.
