Mexico is our 3rd biggest trade partner.
But they're brown so you guys think they're useless.

The solution here is simple. Just make the tariffs less than the other guy, then let the free market work itself out.

Y'all realize with this tax America will still be paying for the wall via higher prices on consumer goods.

Good. Now you have a reason to buy from American businesses. You will have to cut out a little of your unnecessary shite though. You will be better in the long run. You have a lot of potential discipline and I believe in you.

So that's an additional ~$60 billion in taxes that we could gain?
Posted on 1/26/17 at 2:41 pm to Zach Lee To Amp Hill
This will be enormous for the US agricultural industry who are currently stuck competing with Mexico where they have very little regulation revolving around pesticide use.

Right on. Thanks.
I'll gladly pay 20% more on TVs if it means building the wall.

Great. Now we'll get to hear fake stories from fake news outlets about 20% of all Gringos residing in Mexico having 100% of their asses handed to them by IDGAF bad dudes. I assume the WH is warning Ex-Pats as we speak.

We buy a tremendous amount of garments from them. That's essentially what killed the cotton industry in America. All the garment processing business went to Mexico. NAFTA sent all of those jobs to the lowest wage bidder.
People are scared of this standoff with Mexico. Temporarily it puts Commerce in jeopardy, but this battle is needed in the worst way.
I know everyone thinks Trumps statement "we don't win anymore" is corny, but it's so true. We play by the rules and let Mexico, China, India, Japan and Vietnam take advantage of our honest business dealings.

Pretty sure most of this wont effect most people.

are they going to have to pay their workers less than Mexican workers? Are they going to have to pay for health insurance for their workers? Where do you think those cost increases are going to get passed down to?

So he's going to tax us 20% on goods to pay for his wall?
