The whole point of living in New Orleans is your commute is non existent. No?

You really want to get up an hour earlier every day just to sit in a car? And drive an hour home everyday?

What a waste of life to me. Instead of getting home at 6:30 you now get home at 7:30. Instead of leaving home at 6am you now leave at 5am.

Not to mention gas expenses.

No thank you.

I'd never commute like that.

Some people I know in New England commute 90 minutes one way in the morning.

That's utterly insane to me.

I used to do that. It was awful and just not sustainable. Now I have a 20 or so minute commute on the metro. That alone was a huge bump in my quality of life.

Unless you literally live on your office doorstep, you're not adding an hour to your commute. I've been doing it since 2007. Been carpooling since 2011 which makes it easier, but it still didn't bother me before. I leave around 5:10AM, get to the office in the CBD before 6, leave at 4 and get home in about 50 minutes.
