Denver wants to trade Nurkic because he isn't any good. He's a black hole on offense.

I really don't think they have a ton of interest in average picks and future assets. They have players at every position. If anything, I think they are on consolidation mode.

And I assume making the playoffs mostly has the same appeal to them as it does to us.

They do not have good PG play. Mudiay is coming around a lot slower than they expeted. he can't shoot and is a turnover machine. Jameer Nelson is old. Murray and Harris are young SG's, not PGs.
Denver was interested in Jrue last year b/c they are ready to give up on Mudiay.

Denver Post on Mudiay from November '16

Doesn't make sense for either team.

Orlando is a disaster. They sold away young players for Ibaka who really isn't changing things there. They got rid of Harris for nothing. Then on top of that I don't think any of their young guys have improved much in the last two years.

Yeah, trading away Oladipo and Sabonis for an expiring Ibaka was a real head-scratcher.

Marc Stein says they tried to trade Vucevic and a 1st for Dragic. Too bad our PGs are both expiring.

Seems high for Dragic or they do not value Vucevic.

while true, that doesn't matter as much because they are running things through Jokic. they have a 114 ORating since starting him on 12/15. dude is a legit passer. since then, Mudiay has shot 38% from 3 on 4 3PA/G

now they still probably would be very interested in Holiday for defense and versatility. but Jokic makes needing a legit creator a lesser need for them.

I'm not sure that would be such a bad thing with Holiday. He could probably fill that secondary creator role pretty well. Frankly, his lack of top dog aggressiveness is why many people think we need to upgrade there.

I think he's perfect here if you can surround him with willing passers.

+1...a more dynamic creator, ideally to play next to Holiday, is high on my wish list

if they roll w/ Davis as a 5 long term, you don't need to invest much in "true" frontcourt players (develop Diallo, smart, targeted signings) and can play dem Corner Bros up at the 4 v many, many teams.

then playmaking/shooting can be the priorities. Cunningham opting out could be a problem though

if Davis isn't interested or unable to be the 5, then things get very very tricky

We have Bird Rights on him, but it would increase his cap hold from about $3 to $4.5
