its a joke that people cant realize the difference between Clemens and Bonds & their lying to congress about steroid use and with Pudge who has never been a confirmed user, only suspected.
Why does that matter to the writers? That is my issue with the writers in the first place. Their ego prevents them from doing their job. Schilling is a perfect example.

Schilling is different.
Pudge has never officially been caught or admitted to using steroids, like Bonds and Clemens. Same with Piazza. Same with Bagwell.

Anyone else notice Gammons rocking tennis shoes and white socks with the suit?

I get that, but I don't see how that matters to the supposed expert writers. If steroid use is a big enough reason to keep Bonds and Clemens out, then I don't see how you can overlook the circumstantial evidence with Pudge and put him in on the first ballot. The inconsistency is what pisses me off about the HOF.

i dont think its that egregious. I find myself agreeing with that line of thinking. I think its a lot easier to say. Its a pretty hard decision

Is Mussina really a HOFer?

Incredible: Pudge is the first HOFer who has played even one game for the Tigers since 1974.

I feel like almost anyone with a B name in that era was lumped in at some point. I think I can remember hearing Sean Berry and Tim Bogar being referred to as part of them

About 50% of voters wanted Pudge, Clemens & Bonds.
25% Didn't vote for any of the 3
25% voted for Pudge, but not Clemens or Bonds.
Your issue is with about 25% of the writers.

I know.

Pudge just said, "only God knows" when asked about it. He has been linked by Canseco who turned out pretty accurate.
I also thought Pudge had his name pop up on another report as well?

But...why?
He won 20 games once. He played his entire career on dominant teams with awesome offenses. He was never a top five pitcher in baseball. He sometimes wasn't even the best pitcher on his own team. His case for the HOF seems similar to Eli to me. Long career where he stayed healthy and accumulated numbers. Big wins.
