Does a Falcons Super Bowl win help the city of Atlanta

shed its lackluster sports city image, or is the city always going to have a bad reputation for being a poor sports town?

We will always struggle, because so many people move here from out of state. Most of Atlanta comes from somewhere else. It is also not easy for the people OTP to commute in for games so that takes out a large portion of the people who have lived here their whole lives. Atlanta has to have a winner to put people in the seats. Luckily the hawks and falcons have done well in the last decade, and with the new stadium, the braves will have people there all season until we put a solid product on the field next year.
eta: but yes, obviously a super bowl win would help. it would get that stigma gone of Atlanta always chokes when it matters a little bit

20% of the people in the Georgia Dome this past weekend enjoyed their 1st Falcons game

The Falcons need a Super Bowl, but they're not lacking fan support.
BTW,how many Braves fans are in Louisiana? Their support reaches across the South.

With a SB win, the Falcons organization will begin calling on the city of Atlanta and its taxpayers to build them an even newer stadium.

I think it does.
The Saint in me would normally hate to see this, but not this time.
I just don't like seeing teams that have won multiple World titles get another off the back of a team that never has.
Peyton Manning might be a legend, but not at the expense of the New Orleans Saints. I know what it's like for your team to be up against something like that. I do sympathize with fans that have never had the feeling.
I want the Atlanta Falcons to stand against Tom Brady and all his record-breaking Super Bowl Glory and beat them.

It will cause gnashing of team in NOLA.

Talking about it this early scares me
But yes I think that a SB would get excitement raised about having a winner. What needs to happen is to have some of those who moved in from out of state to start supporting our teams. Winning seems to do that (see Seattle).
Next year tickets to Falcons games will be hard to get with higher expectations and also a brand new stadium.

Georgia folks in ATL love them some UGA. Everyone else here is from somewhere else so while the city of Atlanta is a large market for sports, the fans are diluted from the outside.

Nobody beating the pats.
This is another case of Green Bay stealing Falcons hope. Just like in 2010.
