Yeah, we get it. All the problems in every black community the world over are white people's fault. The US. The Caribbean. Actual Africa. All the violence All the poverty. All the dysfunction. All white people's fault.

many historians would agree with you.

Well since my thread was deleted I will repeat it here.
MLK Jr was a liar, adulterer, a blasphemer, draft dodger, whore monger, drunkard, and supported communism.
He would be the same as Al Sharpton had he lived but being shot changes the legacy of some men and allows people to rewrite their history to some degree.

Oh this is stupid. Black people calling white people out on their shite and demanding equal protection under the law isn't harming race relations.
Here's what MLKJr would say about that kind of thinking:
"First I must confess that over the last few years, I have been gravely disappointed with the white moderate. I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that Negro's greatest stumbling block toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Council or the Ku Klux Klan, but the white moderate who more devoted to order than justice; who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is presence of justice; who constantly says "I agree with the goal you seek but I can't agree with your methods of direct action;" who paternalistically feels he can set a timetable on another man's freedom; who lives by the myth of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait until a more "convient season".

Man, you sure do know a lot about history. Ever read much about the history of Haiti? You know, the island formerly known as Saint Domingue? Where the slaves rose up, murdered all the whites, and set up their own government free from evil white racism? It's by far the poorest and most dysfunctional nation in the Western Hemisphere today. White people's fault?

Yep, had he lived we would hold him in the same regard as Jesse and Al.

who sold black people to white people?

I love how people act like they wouldn't hate MKL just as much as they do anyone else today. He would get the exact same insults thrown at him

I know, I know. It's all white people's fault. And the great thing about that is, since everything is bad white people's fault, you don't have to take any ownership or initiative of your own to better your own community. You can just keep on "raising awareness" until enough good whites decide it's finally time to fix everything in the black community. Happy MLK day

Wouldn't he be in his late 80's if he were still alive???? And there is no telling how the world would be had he not been shot....
Posted on 1/16/17 at 8:15 am to Nado Jenkins83
I imagine he'd look at people like jesse jackson and al sharpton and shaun king and say "this isn't what I had in mind..."
Posted on 1/16/17 at 8:17 am to Nado Jenkins83
He would be licking his chops.

As a Nupe I'm sure you have a unique take on him compared to the rest of this board, care to share?

Here's another favorite quote from MLKJr on the subject on riots. Since that's another thing y'all love to bring up on here
"But it is not enough for me to stand before you here tonight and condem riots. It would be morally irresponsible for me to do that, without,at the same time, condemning the contingebt, intolerable conditions that exist in our society. These conditions are things that cause individuals to feel that they have no other alternative than to engage in violent rebellions to gain attention. And I must say tonight that a riot is the language of the unheard".
Excerpt from his "The Other America" speech

You realize MLK was an Alpha right? He was a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Inc. Not Kappa Alpha Psi Inc.
