On 4th downs, only the fumbling player can recover a fumble. Otherwise, it's a dead ball at the spot of the fumble. I guess your situation only works if someone catches that throw.

So while losing on the last play of the game, you can be tackled and the game is over.

Or you can wildly throw the ball backwards and hope someone catches it.

So, I guess I'm to understand that you simply don't understand the very basics of football if you are confused by the question?
