if Booker was smart AND not using this as a jumping point, he'd stick to just criminal justice reform (Which he's been a big proponent of and it fits in with going against Sessions's past). if he concentrates on racism? pulls an Anita Hill? he's just pandering

Aren't these hearings a formality?
yes, which is why it's likely that Booker, who is just breaking protocol for no apparently rational reason, is likely to be using this as a stage (coordinated with the media and DEM party) to be pushed into the stratosphere of the political zeitgeist
this shite is all coordinated. hell yesterday when Franken brought up that Hebert guy, MSNBC had Hebert on stand by to give validity to Franken's "gotcha". they then failed to report how he's lied to Congress before about Sessions, as Cruz pointed out after the lunch break

You're really expecting too much!

Someone on another thread thinks the nominee for Secretary of State (Tillerson) is the least likely to make it.

Booker has financial entanglements with the Marxist Silicon Valley machine that are problems for him. He might want to chill his little arse out today. If he goes HAM I would expect he may be the subject of his own set of congressional hearings.

Working, Thanks. Booker acting the arse now

You know that Sessions has been prepping for this for a long while with the help of many in DC.
Correct
Sessions should say "hey Corey, remember when you were kissing my arse with regards to my work on Civil Rights? Everybody else does."
Drops mic, exits room.

My issues with session go well beyond his sketchy ties to being a racist.
He's also a drug warrior. And neo con through and through.

Isn't there some archived video or something that could be used as counter-evidence against this sorry POS?
Posted on 1/11/17 at 9:29 am to oklahogjr
I'm willing to look at your evidence. Do you have any links?

pretty sure they'll allow him to seem honorable and above board and let Cruz or Graham point this out

i don't like Sessions as a nominee, either
but i give him and the GOP credit for making the DEMs look foolish yesterday

i think so
i think he was originally celebrated as this savvy tech guy and investor and then that all turned into shite so they took him out of the limelight so that it wouldn't be used against him. i think that's what happened to tarnish his star

Voting record and multiple quotes on the subject with things like good people don't smoke weed and such.
Posted on 1/11/17 at 9:39 am to oklahogjr
He had quite a bit to say yesterday about this voting record. It's clear to me that, not being a lawyer and not being thoroughly familiar with the details of every issue he voted on, it's impossible to understand why he voted a certain way. It's also clear that many of his votes had to do with legal aspects of the piece of legislation being considered, and not with the issue. As for his quotes, at least we know where he stands and what his personal views and beliefs are. He made that perfectly clear yesterday. I don't think we can assume that he can't separate his own beliefs and the law, as it currently stands.

Despite having resigned from his law firm once entering the mayor’s office, Booker received annual payments until 2011, during which time the firm was profiting handsomely off of Brick City
quote:
F]rom 2006 to 2011, Booker was still receiving annual payments, which totaled close to $700,000, from his former law firm—Trenk, DiPasquale, Webster—from which he had resigned once elected mayor to avoid “the appearance of impropriety.” Booker’s campaign spokeswoman, Silvia Alvarez, told me: “He was paid out by the firm as part of his separation agreement for work he performed before he became mayor.” OK, sure, but while Booker was profiting from the firm, they were profiting from Newark: over $2 million in work for Newark’s Housing Authority, the Watershed Conservation Development Corporation, and a wastewater agency. “That’s almost like Sharpe James-type shite,” one New Jersey Democratic operative offered.

The problem is were trying to change the law. Currently under law the feds should be kicking down medical marijuana clinics regardless of state law. I don't know that anyone really wants that but it's within the power of the ag to stop the entire legalization movement if he decides to.
