I won't disagree with you on that. It's extremely quiet.
But I'm telling you ... shutting the doors should not be a chore.

Ford has failed to produce an engine that even comes close to the reliability of the 7.3 liter International.
Trying to go in-house production rather than just letting established manufacturers provide the powerplant, was a stupid move.
Ford has changed its philosophy to be like a cell phone manufacturer: constant changes and alleged upgrades get people to trade-in constantly. So, Ford only has to build vehicles that people find reliable for 3 years or so. Fortunately for them, that's how Ford fans like it.
Maybe one day Ford will actually build something of quality.

That was a great engine, but they needed something with more output to compete with the Duramax. They went with the 6.0L, which sucked. They dumped that and moved to the 6.4L, which sucked even more. Now they are on the 6.7L, which isn't quite as bad. They are trying to improve that one gradually instead of dumping and replacing.
I don't know much about the new V6 diesel being offered in the new F150. I am sure Ford is sensitive to issues with their diesels in the past and would take steps to make sure this one has all the bugs worked out.

All manufacturers update their products every few years these days. Ford is trying to correct some problems and keep the truck fresh. I believe that a few of their competitors are introducing entirely new trucks in the next few years so IMO they are being smart in keeping their pickups competitive.

No they didnt. That 7.3 would do anything anyone would ever need a diesel 1 ton truck to do. Plus everyone that had diesels knew what they were getting with the 7.3.

I've owned chevys my whole life, but if you think ford is going to sell you a truck that's going to just randomly crap out on you in a few years then you are just stubbornly loyal to a different brand

I disagree, the "excessive wind noise" in that TSB is annoying. The body flexes with the doors and every small bump I hit at speed I can hear the wind. Thought my door was coming off at first. 2015 btw.
My boss bought a 2016 sport and it's very noticeably more quiet than mine inside the cabin.

My company vehicle is an F-150 and the next one I will get will be Nov 2018. Hope they have the 2019s out by then. I wouldn't buy a F-150 if it were my money but I can't complain because we get to drive them for personal use and just report personal miles every month.

does that bitch have built in ramps in the bed?
Yeah, some F-150 trims have stow away ATV ramps available as an optional feature. Haven't seen it in person though before.

....until a competitor (Duramax) disrupted the market and forced them to respond with a higher output engine.
