Barry sanders 2.0 aka Clyde Edwards-helaire

I don't post here often but with all the etienne talk I had no other option. I know I know, Barry sanders was a back in his own class and will never be replicated. And sure we need 2 backs this class and CEH gets no love. Guice said CEH will be a better back than him. A low center of gravity and strong lower body. Already in the 190's in weight. Next season he will be about 205 and a tank.
I hope he stays true to LSU because he is one of the committed offensive prospect I'm most excited about.

Agree with you completely. Most would never have thought Guise would make you forget LF. But he had a great season.

Congrats. Dumbest thing I have read so far today.

I have seen this man play in person twice. He is an outstanding talent; he does seem injury prone.

Sure is crazy how a little Catholic school can get elite running back after elite running back. What is in the water down there haha jk lulz

There's some middle ground here between those comparing him to Barry Sanders and those writing him off as a limited 3rd down back. He'll be a great Tiger

Nope. He's good...but he's not in the same stratosphere as Guice (much less Sanders).

I don't really like college vs all-pro NFL comparisons, other than maybe running style. Thought this thread needed some facts though ...
Louisiana's top 8 overall: (N.O. NIKE Opening):
Leading the way for Louisiana prospects was Catholic High running back and LSU commitment Clyde Edwards-Helaire, who posted a 4.47 in the 40-yard run, 4.12 short shuttle, a 38-feet power ball toss and 37.5-inch vertical leap, good for a third place finish and final score of 121.86.
1. Clyde Edwards-Helaire, RB, Catholic-BR, LSU commit, 121.86
2. Travis Etienne, RB, Jennings, 5-11, 199, 116.94
Fastest 5:
1. Travis Etienne, RB, Jennings, 4.43
2. Clyde Edwards-Helaire, RB, Catholic-BR, 4.47
4. Todd Harris, S, Plaquemine, 4.51
Top vertical leaps: (Just FYI)
2. Jontre Kirklin, ATH, Lutcher, LSU commit, 41.8
3. Todd Harris, S, Plaquemine, 41.0

Great ball skills and a late bloomer - I think CEH will be one of the mild surprises - not quite a "diamond in the rough" which we would reserve for 3-star players at this level, but still - with all the talk about Harris, Akers and Carr in this class (more or less the 3 on the bubble of a 5th star), CEH could be just what we need going forward with Canada's offense.
Etienne is going to be more of a bruiser and a strong downhill runner (which we'll need to compliment CEH - who is more of a slash and dash back.)

i cant find any stats for this guy. what kind of numbers did he put up this year?

He's heavier than 190 boss. I don't think those numbers have been updated since before this season.
