They have gone the other direction and are 20-40 lbs lighter across the front 7 then they were in 2009-2012 to better address the HUNH/spread speed of the game and not be caught in personnel mismatches.

Aren't some of those guys though like 6'1 and not 6'4?

He probably sees Myles Garrett at 270 and how he's a potential number 1 pick and knows he can be that next year but the knock would be his weight. That boy want that number 1 like Myles. I don't blame him, he can do it if Myles can.

Isn't that what Sam Montgomery did?

He claimed that it didn't affect his speed or quickness.

He is a guy you put on the field. Doesn't matter where tbh. He will ball out regardless.

There is a grease stain on the slab where Pancho's once stood. Puked a few times in that parking lot then back in for more!

Easy to gain weight in south Louisiana, not necessarily good weight though.

ETA: Also Key is a better pass rusher than anybody Bamas had in the past 20 years.

There are 260 lb OLB in the NFL . The Titans drafted one from Clemson last year.

I honestly thing he's athletic enough to play outside in either scheme. I see him more in the 245-250 range tho. Huge difference between 240-260

4-3 ends are normally between 255-280, most pass rushing ends float around 260 give or take.

At 6'6 260 is reachable. He'll need have an awesome diet and workout to keep the quickness. The crazy part is he's just now getting to his grown man body growth time.

Khalil Mack plays both OLB/DE. Why can't Key?

Sam Montgomery was a very fast DE when he was around 245. Ran a 4.5 or 4.6 40 yard dash. He gained weight to about 265 his senior year. It really hurt his 40 time. He slowed to about 4.8 in the NFL combine:
