He is so tall that one of his biggest enemies will be getting top heavy and loosing agility/quickness on cuts. I hope he likes working out his lower body. Gaining leg/hip muscle is always important but for him it will be "Key" if he is to have a decently low center of gravity.
pun intended.

Sam Montgomery was a very fast DE when he was around 245. Ran a 4.5 or 4.6 40 yard dash. He gained weight to about 265 his senior year. It really hurt his 40 time. He slowed to about 4.8 in the NFL combine:
You're forgetting his biggest factor, the dirty play by Tennessee to take out his knee. He was never the same afterwards.

Mingo has tried that, but with that kind of track frame it is hard to keep that weight on.

He needs to make a choice about whether he wants to be a OLB or DE in the NFL. Chances are he's an OLB even at 260.
Even at 240 he's holds his ground and plays well against the run, but 260 gives him the size to be a 4-3 DE or 3-4 OLB. It will also help him generate more ability to simply overpower his oppenents. If he can do that and stay fast, his stock goes up even more. Even if he reaches 255 that's great.

Montgomery was injured during the first quarter of No. 12 LSU's 16-14 victory over Tennessee last Saturday while attempting to rush the quarterback from the right end.
Nah, it was UT, he was very hyped up during that game. I thought he was about to wreak havoc until they took out his knee.
