Just last month, Narcisse backed out of his commitment to LSU, only weeks before he was expected to enroll. It was a calculated move, he admitted, to urge LSU to speed up its search for an offensive coordinator.

“I kind of always knew where my heart was,” he said. “I kind of decommitted to force them to be able to faster hire somebody as offensive coordinator. I think they did just that.”

does anyone believe a Narcisse really influenced the expediency of the OC hire?

All I know is he's an awesome player. We've been following him for 2 years on the recruiting board. Very glad he's enrolling early.

Maybe not, but it still didn't make any sense for O to say that no OC was gonna be hired until after the bowl game.

Well his surname, Narcisse is French for Narcissus, the Greek legend from which narcissism is derived.

So, he gets it honest! LOL

I haven't watched him play, but I'm all for more talent at the QB position regardless of how self absorbed they may or may NOT be. Just thought the comment was quite outlandish, though not uncommon coming from today's recruits.

No. But it's okay to let him think that. Whatever it takes to get him enrolled next week.

The timing had everything to do with Lane.

Great to have him, but barring injury to others, I don't think he ever plays a significant down for LSU.

It's not his fault, but the knee injuries have likely taken away a large part of his "dual threat" ability, and Brennan is a much better passer now. I think he probably transfers after year two

Just as much as I believe the coaching changes board influenced the hire

FWIW, I think Lowell and Brennan backing off some DID speed up the hire.

Well everyone has an opinion. I honestly have no clue who the QB will be at LSU in two years. That said the 2 ACL injuries are concerning for a dual threat QB...IF he will be used as a true dual threat QB. Bottom line is I think we should let Canada go to work before we start speculating on the future of the QB position.
