Because a wall will be terribly innefective. Physical barriers are expensive and easy to get around.
That's why they have a physical barriers and restricted entry around the White House, military bases, Hillary's house, Paul Ryan's house, etc.
But hey, physical barriers don't keep people out. Right?

$30 billion sent back to Mexico every year, slap a 25% tax on it there's your money to pay for the wall.
And what happens when Mexico retaliates with more/ tariffs of their own to offset like they did with the long haul trucking issue in 2010
That 25% of 30 bill starts Getting smaller. Republicans on this board are acting like economic policy is a one way street. Like no country ever retaliates with major trade changes.
For context, in 2015 us exports to Mexico totaled $236 billion.

No doubt you would make a shitty agent in representing someone when it comes to a contract negotiation. Do you even know what the word "barter" means?

Yes, it's a great time to build a wall.
quote:
More Mexican immigrants have returned to Mexico from the U.S. than have migrated here since the end of the Great Recession, according to a new Pew Research Center analysis of newly available government data from both countries.
The same data sources also show the overall flow of Mexican immigrants between the two countries is at its smallest since the 1990s, mostly due to a drop in the number of Mexican immigrants coming to the U.S.
From 2009 to 2014, 1 million Mexicans and their families (including U.S.-born children) left the U.S. for Mexico, according to data from the 2014 Mexican National Survey of Demographic Dynamics (ENADID). U.S. census data for the same period show an estimated 870,000 Mexican nationals left Mexico to come to the U.S., a smaller number than the flow of families from the U.S. to Mexico.

Jackass, you are the moron that would rather have no wall and pay for ILLEGALS to be here. 1 wall is cheaper than generations of illegals.
To be honest, I would be happy to contribute to such a greatly needed wall.

Gotta laugh at all of the anonymous people on this board who are more educated and richer than "most on this board".

Im fine with paying for the wall. I wish he had promised that sanctuary cities would foot the bill for the wall

Or you could just enforce existing laws fining the shite out of employers who hire illegals ...thereby eliminating the demand for cheap labor....and eliminating the reason they come here i the first place.
That is a wall I do believe in. With the stroke of a pen. But neither party cares for such I have come to realize the last two decades.
Add better border security as well. I'm sure there are ways it can be made better through a combination of tech, boots and barriers.

This is actually a testament to Trumps "get it done" mentality. I don't think anyone expected to see Mexico waiting with a signed check in hand on Jan 20 to pay for the wall. So it's a no brainer if it's going to get done any time soon it would have to be financed over a period of years by reducing their aid we send. So in the end, they pay for it.
Bam. Gettin' shite done. DJT has had more influence before being sworn in than Obama has the past 4 years.
EDIT: on Oct 22, DJT stated that Mexico will reimburse the US for the cost of the wall.

Do you have children or grandchildren? You don't want them living in the America we'll leave them if we don't stop immigration.

Oh look, someone who hasn't thought about the issue seriously and wants to further an agenda without concern for the consequences, so makes an emotional appeal to other people who haven't thought about it.

I'd rather pay for that than help foot the bill for the items you can't afford.
