I'm betting it is price, plus he is being picky and not jumping at each opportunity. Just because he interviewed and Fleck accepted doesn't mean Minnesota didn't want Les. Just means they wanted Fleck and his price more.
Les may be stuck in his old ways but he can recruit and players love him. He could go there and continue to win 8-10.

Miles to WMU
Michigan man gets to go back home, WMU supporters can back off the ledge

Frank Solich has made a nice career out of ohio after getting fired by nebraska

He's done. Hopefully he resurrects himself on TV. He can't be worse than Mack brown.

Miles was never going to take a job like Purdue, Houston, or Minnesota. He sent representation:

The true art of interviewing is to not get offered where you don't want to go

As somebody on here said a few weeks ago, tank the interview, hit the beach and enjoy the buyout.
Exactly, the government assistance approach.

He is pretty bad. Dude wants to play 1920s football.

Or is he just that bad of a coach now?
Or does he need a binder?
Or was his price to steep?
The most likely scenario is that he doesn't want to coach. The second most likely scenario is that the job would have to be pretty big to make it worthwhile for him and, given his age, he's not likely to see offers from schools that will pay that kind of money.
In short, it's just a bad fit for Miles. The jobs he'd take won't offer him.

"Les, you had the most future NFL players on offense in CFB and still had an anemic offense, how will you have a successful offense with less talent?"
Exactly. What did he show here to make anyone think he could win at a place with little to no recruiting base and far fewer resources?
Not to diminish his accomplishments here, but how often did anyone watch us play and think, "man he really gets everything out of his players."? The Houston job is that kind of job. You're not gonna out recruit the power 5 schools. The Minnesota job is that kind of job.
As far as any elite program goes, nobody is interested after watching him take us on a downward trend the last 4 years

Are you comparing Houston or Minnesota to ok state??
If so, you're more of an idiot than your posts suggest
Great point though. Ok state has definitely fallen off the map from those 7 win seasons they had when he was there.

Les would be lucky if a school like Oklahoma State would hire him. Houston and Minnesota are the pinnacle of college football and need established proven coaches

You have got to be joking or just ignorant as hell. Mack Brown can hold his own when speaking and trying to get his point across. Say what you will about his coaching days, but the man knows what he's doing in front of the cameras.

You're clearly just a troll on this board lol.
Interesting how you didn't touch my question. How many times did anyone watch a Les team and say "he really gets everything out of his players." ?? Pretty often right?
Oklahoma State has done ok since he left I'd say. I don't know though, maybe they miss his 7-5 campaigns.
They're not at all comparable to Minnesota lmao. Different recruiting bases, support, etc.
You can think what you want, but the truth is nobody is interested in Miles. He's getting old and he knows it. He can't sit around and wait for a job to open. He's openly lobbying for a chance and yet nobody is calling.
I wonder why? You're right he's probably waiting til he's 70 bc then the market will really be clamoring for his services lol.

Considering what Oklahoma State was before he got there, he is their version on Saban building what they currently have.
He isn't lobbying for anything, so.eone asked him if he wants to coach again and he said yes. Listen to his most recent interview where he talks about it being the right fit. Some of you just hate him is all.

Did you really just compare him at Ok St to saban here?? Not even close.
He must be getting asked a lot bc he's all over the place saying he wants to coach. I don't hate the guy. I have no respect for him as a coach, but I don't hate him. I said it when he got fired and I'll say it again. He's not well regarded in coaching circles.
Everyone can debate that, but the results of these coaching searches will continue to show that he's not a hot commodity by any stretch
